Susan Boyle reportedly was to perform on last night’s America’s Got Talent results show, but instead left Los Angeles in tears when Lou Reed wouldn’t give permission for Susan to sing “Perfect Day.”

Susan Boyle had arrived in L.A. earlier in the day just for the America’s Got Talent appearance.

Producers needed Lou Reed’s permission for Boyle to perform the song, but were told at the last minute that he refused to sign off on it, because, it’s rumored, he’s not a SuBo fan!

America’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan told Access Hollywood: “I think there’s just some issue about the releasing of the Lou Reed song ‘Perfect Day. And ironically, it turned into an imperfect day… I’m really sad. I love Susan… She’s OK.”

Look for the star-studded “Everybody Hurts” to be released on February 7 and include Mariah Carey, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart, Michael Buble, Jon Bon Jovi, Take That, Mika, James Blunt, James Morrison, Westlife, Cheryl Cole, boy band JLS, Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Joe McElderry and Susan Boyle.

“Everybody Hurts” will have its digital release on February 7 and the CD release on February 8. Proceeds will go to the Helping Haiti fund and the Disasters Emergency Committee.
