The Who Rumored to Perform at Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show

Rumors are buzzing this morning that The Who will perform at the Super Bowl XLIV halftime show, according to a report on the Sports Illustrated website.

The NFL has not officially confirmed The Who’s halftime show, saying, “When we have something to announce, we’ll announce it.”

Super Bowl XLIV airs February 7, 2010.

Elizabeth Lambert Today Show – Soccer Player Suspended for Punching, Hair Pulling (Video)

Elizabeth Lambert has since been suspended indefinitely and issued a statement: “I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary.”

Lawrence Taylor Arrested for Leaving Car Accident Scene

Lawrence Taylor arrrested? The former New York Giants linebacker and Dancing with the Stars season 8 contestant was arrested after leaving the scene of a car accident yesterday.

The car accident happened around 6:35 p.m. on Florida’s Palmetto Expressway around the 103rd Street exit. Lawrence Taylor reportedly left the scene and Florida Highway Patrol troopers were on the lookout for “white vehicle missing the right front tire.”

Lawrence Taylor was found a short time later, standing outside his car and talking on the phone. He was arrested and later released on $500 bond.

Taylor did admit to the accident, but had thought he only hit a guard rail.

Florida Highway Patrol reports that Lawrence Taylor was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Hialeah. No injuries were reported.

Andre Agassi Crystal Meth Use Admission in “Open” Memoir (Video)

Seems everyone has their tales of woe to tell lately to sell books… the latest is that tennis legend Andre Agassi used crystal meth in 1997. Buy his book and find out more!

Andre Agassi, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, admits that he used crystal meth while he was married to Brooke Shields and for a time when his career was in the dumper in 1997.

As you may or may not know, Andre Agassi beat the career slump for an impressive comeback – winning five Grand Slams before heading into retirement.

But back to that crystal meth use and his new book, “Open,” hitting stores on November 9.

A few excerpts from Andre Agassi’s memoir that touch on his crystal meth use with an assistant he calls “Slim”:

“Slim is stressed too … He says, You want to get high with me? On what? Gack. What the hell’s gack? Crystal meth. Why do they call it gack? Because that’s the sound you make when you’re high … Make you feel like Superman, dude.

As if they’re coming out of someone else’s mouth, I hear these words: You know what? F*** it. Yeah. Let’s get high.

Slim dumps a small pile of powder on the coffee table. He cuts it, snorts it. He cuts it again. I snort some. I ease back on the couch and consider the Rubicon I’ve just crossed.

There is a moment of regret, followed by vast sadness. Then comes a tidal wave of euphoria that sweeps away every negative thought in my head. I’ve never felt so alive, so hopeful – and I’ve never felt such energy.

I’m seized by a desperate desire to clean. I go tearing around my house, cleaning it from top to bottom. I dust the furniture. I scour the tub. I make the beds.”

Agassi also recounts how he felt when he discovers he’s tested positive for meth:

“My name, my career, everything is now on the line. Whatever I’ve achieved, whatever I’ve worked for, might soon mean nothing. Days later I sit in a hard-backed chair, a legal pad in my lap, and write a letter to the ATP. It’s filled with lies interwoven with bits of truth.

I say Slim, whom I’ve since fired, is a known drug user, and that he often spikes his sodas with meth – which is true. Then I come to the central lie of the letter. I say that recently I drank accidentally from one of Slim’s spiked sodas, unwittingly ingesting his drugs. I ask for understanding and leniency and hastily sign it: sincerely.

I feel ashamed, of course. I promise myself that this lie is the end of it.”

Glee Cast to Sing National Anthem at World Series October 31 (Video)

The cast of Glee doesn’t need a stinkin’ Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – the kids are doing just fine without it, thanks NBC. Next up: the Glee cast will be singing the National Anthem at the World Series on October 31.

Watch for the Glee cast’s take on The Star Spangled Banner when they sing during game three of the World Series.

Serena Williams Foot Fault and Meltdown at U.S. Open (Video)

The Serena Williams foot fault video and replay of her U.S. Open meltdown are hot topics today. Serena Williams lost her cool during last night’s U.S. Open match against Kim Clijsters, receiving a code violation and match penalty, and ending her run at the Open.

What did Serena Williams say to the line judge? In the Serena Williams foot fault video, it’s unclear what exactly was said during the outburst.

Serena Williams was faulted on her first serve, and when the line judge called a foot fault (double-fault), Williams reportedly said: “I swear to God I’m… going to take this… ball and shove it down your… throat, you hear that? I swear to God.”

The line judge reported the incident, with the resulting decision being a code violation and a match penalty. Kim Clijsters won the match in a 6-4, 7-5 victory.
