Much like her depressing ASPCA commercial, Sarah McLachlan’s South Park presence pulls at the hearstrings of Stan and Kyle.

Kyle warns, “Oh no, it’s that super-sad Sarah McLachlan commercial, look away.”

“Hello I’m Sarah McLachlan. I was famous for two months,” the Sarah-esque cartoon says.

The South Park episode later slams guitarist Slash: “Slash is not real… He’s based on a fable of a Dutch saint named VunterSlaush.”

South Park’s “It’s a Jersey Thing” episode last night has people saying “What’s muff cabbage?” The South Park Jersey Shore episode (video) managed to spoof the MTV reality series, make a little fun of Real Housewives of New Jersey and just generally rip on the Garden State.

As always, South Park didn’t hold back in their “It’s a Jersey Thing” episode and had people running to Google and Urban Dictionary to find out what is muff cabbage, exactly.

“Muff cabbage” hasn’t yet made Urban Dictionary, but it’s only a matter of time…

South Park’s Parker and Stone will write and direct the musical, called “The Book of Mormon” – look for it to premiere on Broadway in March 2011.

Parker and Stone call the musical “a dream come true for us,” saying in a statement: “Growing up in Colorado, a lot of our friends were Mormons and we always thought their book would make a great musical.”

South Park’s creators are no strangers to writing musical numbers – both co-wrote the songs for “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut” and many songs have been featured on the series over the years.

Stone and Parker will work with Robert Lopez, creator and composer of the musical “Avenue Q.”

Lopez commented, “It really is in many senses a big traditional musical comedy, with, as you might expect, untraditional subject matter. I can’t wait to see how Broadway audiences are going to react when they experience it.”

Sadly, none of the South Park characters will hit the stage, according to a spokeswoman for “South Park.”
