A video game based on the hit Showtime series “Dexter” could become a reality.

Will you be tuning in tonight (February 17) to catch the Showtime favorite “Dexter” — on CBS? See, the writers’ strike created a bit of a void in programming, so rather than plug yet another reality show into the schedule, CBS is bringing “Dexter” to network television.
I don’t know about you, but I’m having a hard time keeping track of what’s going on with “Weeds” stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Mary-Louise Parker… but now it looks like the formerly split couple are back together. And engaged.
New York’s Daily News is reporting the news, but neither Mary-Louise Parker nor Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s reps are confirming anything. We’ll see if this is on the up-and-up soon enough.
Paris Hilton, who looked oh-so-orange at the premiere of “The Hottie and the Nottie” broke some news — she will appear on an upcoming episode of Showtime’s “The L Word.”
The British comedy “Secret of a Call Girl” will be making its American debut on Showtime in spring or summer 2008. The series takes a look at Hannah (played by Billie Piper), a legal secretary by day and high priced call girl (named Belle) at night.
Showtime Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt said, “Initially we thought we should make an American version of it, but we fell in love with the original episodes, were captivated by Billie Piper’s Belle, and decided to bring it to Showtime as is. American audiences will be transfixed by the series poignant, sexy comedy meets drama elements and the series will fit in perfectly with our line-up of original programming.”
As the writers’ strike continues, CBS is looking for programming to beef up their weak schedule – enter Showtime’s “Dexter.” “Dexter” may just land on the CBS lineup, with CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves commenting, “Dexter is probably the first one to go on — with some edits. It fits with our crime shows.” It’ll be interesting to see a) if it does indeed join the lineup and b) just how much editing will need to be done.
Wow, what a terrible week for Jonathan Rhys Meyers. First, he was arrested at a Dublin airport and charged with drunkenness. Now comes news that his mother, 50-year-old Geraldine Meyers, passed away as the result of a sudden illness. “The Tudors” star’s publicist told Entertainment Tonight, “With sadness, I am confirming that Jonathan’s mother passed away.”
It was only a matter of time before this was going to become an issue. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing Showtime Networks for using “Californication” as a name for one of the network’s television series (starring David Duchovny). Californication is the name of the Chili Peppers’ 1999 album and single.
Anthony Kiedis, lead singer for the Chili Peppers, said in a statement, “Californication is the signature CD, video and song of the band’s career, and for some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right.”
The band is seeking a permanent injunction that would keep Showtime and the other defendants from using Californication for the show’s name.
