Showtime cancels Tara? After three seasons, United States of Tara has been canceled.

Guess Tara star Toni Collette’s Emmy win for United States of Tara wasn’t enough to secure another season.

Collette was a critical darling with her portrayal of Tara – in total, the character took on six individual personalities.

United States of Tara was canceled because it took a dive in the ratings this past season… are you sad to see it go?

What did you think of the graphic Weeds sex scene in the bar? I’m speechless that Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Mary Louise Parker put it out there like that. Guess Mark is shedding any of those lingering Zack Morris/Saved by the Bell associations.

Showtime’s “The Big C” already has a promising cast in Laura Linney, Oliver Platt, and Gabourey Sidibe.

Add one more big name… Liam Neeson is set to make a guest starring appearance on The Big C this fall.

Neeson is set to play “Bee Man,” who offers up possible alternative cancer treatments to Linney’s character.

“The Big C” premieres on August 16.

Julie Benz Returns to Dexter, Julia Stiles in Talks to Join Cast

Even though Dexter’s Rita died at the hands of the Trinity Killer last season, actress Julie Benze will be returning to Dexter next season.

Julie Benz will be appearing on Dexter’s season 5 premiere in the fall, reprising her role as Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) wife, Rita Bennett.

Showtime issued a statement about Julie Benz’s return, saying, “As Dexter grapples with the reality of the death of his wife and the realization that he is now a single father, the presence of Rita Bennett will help him deal with his newfound feelings of loss and grief — emotions that Dexter Morgan has never really felt before.”

The show’s executive producers are saying that she’s not rising from the dead, and she’s only set to star in one episode… sounds like we could be seeing either flashbacks or a dream sequence.

In other Dexter news, EW.com reports that Julia Stiles is currently in talks to join the cast in a “major, top secret role in the show’s upcoming fifth season.”
