It’s Shark Week 2010! Beginning today, August 1, watch Discovery Channel’s Shark Week 2010 kick off with a week’s worth of Shark Week programming, including six new shark specials hosted by Craig Ferguson.

Check out the Shark Week 2010 schedule for help deciding which of the specials to watch:

Ultimate Air Jaws – August 1 at 9 p.m. – great white sharks captured in super slow motion as they propel out of the water to attack seals.

Into the Shark Bite – August 1 at 10 p.m. – close up views of shark attacks, from inside their mouths!

Shark Attack Survival Guide – August 2 at 9 p.m. – learn how to survive a shark attack with this helpful Shark Week special.

Day of the Shark 3 – August 2 at 10 p.m. – first-hand tales from shark attack survivors.

Shark Bite Beach – August 3 at 9 p.m. – investigates beaches along the coast of California and Mexico where 2008 shark attacks happened.

Shark Bites: Adventures in Shark Week – August 4 at 10 p.m. – Craig Ferguson goes to the Bahamas to get up close and personal with sharks – without a cage!

Watch Discovery 2008 Shark Week: Sunday July 27 through August 2

It’s that time again – Discovery Channel offers up their best of all things shark-y with 2008 Shark Week, premiering Sunday, July 27 through Sunday August 8. In addition to some past shark related shows, Discovery is offering up six all new programs that you can sink your teeth into. After the jump, highlights of new Shark Week shows, including a special MythBusters and Dirty Jobs. Check the Discovery web site for the full Shark Week schedule.

MythBusters: Shark Special, premieres Sunday, July 27, at 9 p.m. ET/PT: MythBusters explore myths related to… well… sharks: Do dogs attract sharks? Do the vibrations caused by a flapping injured fish attract sharks? Does chili powder repel sharks? Tune in to see hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman create a 16-foot-long robo-shark!

Surviving Sharks, premieres Monday, July 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT: A special Survivorman that checks into the best theories for surviving shark encounters and digs into whether kicking and splashing attracts sharks. Les Stroud travels to the Bahamas and South Africa for a full shark analysis.

Day of the Shark, premieres Monday, July 28, at 10 p.m. ET/PT: Find out what time of day shark encounters are most likely to take place, as this special examines six recent shark attacks and when they took place.

Dirty Jobs – Greenland Shark Quest, premieres Tuesday, July 29, at 9 p.m. ET/PT: Sharks in the Arctic? Mike Rowe investigates the mysterius Greenland shark when he travels to the edge of the Arctic Circle.

How Not to Become Shark Bait, premiers Tuesday, July 29, at 10 p.m. ET/PT: Check out a variety of shark attraction theories put to the test (colors, vibrations, smells, etc.) when escapologist Jonathan Goodwin, former Survivor: Cook Islands winner Yul Kwon, marine biologist Jeremiah Sullivan and scientist Dr. Marty Jopson travel to the Bahamas.

Mysteries of the Shark Coast, premieres Thursday, July 31, at 9 p.m. ET/PT: Learn more about Australia’s northeastern coast shark activity – where more species of sharks can be found than anywhere else in the world. A team studies the disappearing population with the largest shark tagging expedition in Australian history.

Jeri Ryan Welcomes Baby Girl

“Shark” star Jeri Ryan gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday, March 2.

Jeri Ryan, perhaps most famous for her role on “Star Trek: Voyager,” and her chef husband Christophe Eme, are proud partents to baby girl Gisele.

According to the couple’s rep, “Both parents are thrilled. Jeri is resting comfortably and Christophe is playing the part of proud new papa quite well.”

Jeri Ryan and her husband own the West Hollywood restaurant Ortolan (where Eme is the head chef).
