The Seinfeld reunion will begin in episode 3 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, with Seinfeld and the gang appearing over five of the season’s 10 episodes.

While no big Seinfeld reunion plot details have been revealed, Larry David hints that his character “attempts to get [his estranged wife] Cheryl back, and the ‘Seinfeld’ reunion figures prominently in that.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus adds, “It’s the anti-reunion reunion, and I’d like to copyright that.”

Larry David spoke to reporters about the upcoming Seinfeld reunion on the seventh season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which kicks off September 20.

The TV version of Larry David will agree to the reunion, and it will go down within the context of Curb, with Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards all playing themselves.

Larry David explains the show-within-the-show concept for a Seinfeld reunion, telling reporters at the Television Critics Association, “For years, I’ve been asked about a ‘Seinfeld’ reunion,” which he refused, but, “Then I thought it might be very funny to do that on ‘Curb.’ And I kept thinking about it.”

Jerry Seinfeld will appear in five episodes throughout Curb’s season, and the rest of the Seinfeld cast is likely to be in four or five episodes, though not always together.

David explained, “We’ll see writing, see aspects of the read-through, parts of rehearsal, see the show being filmed, and see it on TV. You won’t see the entire show. You’ll see parts of the show. You’ll get an idea of what happened (to the ‘Seinfeld’ characters) 11 years later. Within the show, it will be incorporated into regular ‘Curb’ episodes.”

This will be the first time the stars of Seinfeld have all been together on screen since the show ended 11 years ago.

Jerry Seinfeld commented on the jump to reality TV, saying, “This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show. After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich.”

No word on when The Marriage Ref will hit the small screen.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus comments, “I’ve found the key to healthy eating is finding foods you really like. That way you don’t feel ripped off when you can’t have a fattening doughnut or whatever you’re craving.”

Louis-Dreyfus chats about her fave foods, including chocolate and bacon: “I have a chocolate drawer in my desk where I keep treats at all times. As long as I can have one or two pieces, I’m fine. But my biggest food vice is bacon. And no, I don’t have a bacon drawer. In fact, I don’t keep bacon in my house—that would be way too tempting.”

Microsoft spokesman Frank Shaw is saying that the ads aren’t getting yanked due to the negative reaction, rather, it was planned this way. Uh-huh.

“All along we said we were having a teaser campaign,” Shaw said. “We’re getting ready to start the second phase. This was the plan all along.”
