Well, that was fast - Microsoft is already pulling the plug on the new ads featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Microsoft co-founder and chairman Bill Gates. While the new Microsoft ads have drawn a lot of criticism, they’re not that bad (I found them entertaining!).

Microsoft spokesman Frank Shaw is saying that the ads aren’t getting yanked due to the negative reaction, rather, it was planned this way. Uh-huh. Read the rest of this entry »

This is the new Jerry Seinfeld Microsoft ad, part of a $10 million deal to make hipper commercials. This one, “Shoe Circus,” featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates, aired last night during the Redskins/Giants game. Kooky, yes. But the promise of delicious things to come from Microsoft is intriguing.

Jerry Seinfeld to appear in Microsoft ads
Gold, Jerry… gold! Jerry Seinfeld has been announced as a celebrity spokesperson for Microsoft’s $300 million advertising campaign - an effort to change its image, according to the Wall Street Journal. Jerry Seinfeld will appear in ads with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

The choice for Jerry Seinfeld in the Microsoft ads will challenge Apple’s “Mac vs. PC” ads. Took Microsoft long enough to get in the game. Look for the new Jerry Seinfeld Microsoft ads to debut September 4.

Seinfeld Bus Hopes to Increase Awareness on College Campuses

Seinfeld bus tours college campuses
Hard to believe that college kids don’t have a clue about Seinfeld - but the Seinfeld bus that’s making the rounds to college campuses hopes to change all of that. Sony Pictures Television has sent a Seinfeld bus on a 26-city tour of campuses, complete with plenty of Seinfeld memorabilia.

They hope to raise awareness about Seinfeld and increase the viewers for TBS’ Seinfeld repeats, which are down 21% over last year. Read the rest of this entry »

Jerry Seinfeld in Car Accident - Brakes Failed, Car Flipped, Seinfeld OK

Jerry Seinfeld was involved in a car accident Saturday night — when the brakes failed in his vintage car and it flipped over. Jerry Seinfeld was ok, though — walking away from the accident without a scratch.

When the brakes failed, Jerry Seinfeld used the emergency brake (no luck) and swerved to avoid an intersection. The 1967 Fiat BTM flipped over and stopped. Read the rest of this entry »

Wow, I had to do a double-take when I read that “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star (and “Seinfeld” creator) Larry David has been cast in Woody Allen’s upcoming (and untitled) film.
