VH1 is taking the reality show concept and running… with yet another reality program in the works, this time taking the telenovela world by storm.
“Viva Hollywood!” features 12 bilingual Latino and Latina contestants who learn how to act with all of the drama of a steamy Spanish soap opera. Judges include actress Maria Conchita Alonso and singer Carlos Ponce. The winner gets a job on a telenovela on Telemundo, a manager and $100,000.

Constant Casanova Scott Baio finally got married to girlfriend Renee Sloan. The reality show “Scott Baio is 45… and Single” chronicled the former teen hearththrob as he worked with a life coach to conquer his commitment phobia. The season finale ended with Scott Baio asking Renee Sloan to marry him – and with Renee announcing her pregnancy.
Now, Scott Baio and Renee Sloan have made it official – the couple got married over the weekend on an L.A. rooftop.
Scott Baio and Renee Sloan had a baby in November.

If you loved the movie “The Running Man,” Sci Fi has a reality/game show for you, called “Run for Money.” It very closely shadows the game involved in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Well, sort of.
“Run for Money” is a new competition “that pits a group of contestants against each other in the quest for cash prizes, while being stalked by relentless ‘hunters,’” according to a Sci Fi network press release. Also in the press release, the show takes place “over 60 minutes of real time in various landmark locations. As the clock winds down, the competition gets harder as more hunters appear on the streets, the game perimeter gets smaller, and tasks are assigned that test fraying nerves. Contestants earn money for every second they ‘stay alive’ and may opt out at their choosing. If they keep playing and are overrun by a hunter, they lose everything. The last person standing takes the prize.”

NBC has announced its midseason shows, so hopefully there’s a glimmer (or two) of hope for TV fans looking for some promising winter programming:
- “American Gladiators” will begin January 6 (Sunday) at 9 PM before moving to Mondays at 8 PM on January 7.
- “Medium” will return on Monday nights for its fourth season, beginning on January 7 at 10 PM. Anjelica Huston will guest star for six episodes.
- “Deal of No Deal” will air Mondays at 9 PM beginning on January 7, as well as continuing at 8 PM on Wednesdays.
- “Baby Borrowers” is a new reality show beginning February 18 at 8 PM. While the title sounds a little strange, it’s a social experiment that shows teenagers the responsibility of caring for babies, getting a job and a home. On second thought, it sounds strange all around.
- “1 vs. 100″ returns on Fridays at 8 PM.

With the increase in reality programming, it’s really no surprise to hear about the newest reality series for ABC, called “Wipeout.” “Wipeout” involves 50 contestants who must maneuver “the world’s largest obstacle course” for $50,000. That’s it – no details yet on when this will hit the air or who will host.

Seems “The Simple Life” star and professional heiress does have standards after all – she won’t do the reality series “The Bachelorette,” saying “I don’t usually like the guys that would want to be on that kind of show.”
So, put the rumor of Paris Hilton starring on the next installment of “The Bachelorette” to rest. Not to worry – I’m sure we’ll be seeing her around.

“The Hills” star Lauren Conrad (LC) will be featured on the January cover of Shape magazine looking oh-so-toned… and quite honestly, a bit skinny. How does Lauren Conrad do it? Weight training, running and kickboxing twice a week, plus plenty of fish and veggies. According to LC, “I used to love fast food. Now I eat six small meals a day consisting mostly of fish, beans, and other protein, along with veggies.”

Ozzy Osbourne cleaned house and made some big money at an auction over the weekend. The most popular items at his sale were from “The Osbournes” reality show, with his bat coat grabbing $3,300, skull sneakers for $2,625 and a pair of Ozzy Osbourne’s glasses for $5,250. Even an ordinary coffee cup fetched $1,625. Big ticket items included a French sculpture for $10,500 and his pool table for $11,250. All total, the auction earned $800,000, which went to The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
