Paula Abdul leaving American Idol is turning into a good thing, with a variety of guest judges passing through to fill the void. The latest (and greatest, in my opinion) is Kristin Chenoweth, Broadway darling and co-star of the dearly departed Pushing Daisies.

Kristin Chenoweth is currently filming the Orlando auditions – sending this message on Twitter yesterday: “In Orlando so excited to see great talent tomorrow.”

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris was also recently announced as a guest judge – maybe all of the guest judges will make watching the audition rounds on TV a little more bearable?

Pushing Daisies Complete Season 2 Coming to DVD July 21

Pushing Daisies, a series cut short way before its time, is giving fans a chance to see how the second season (and the series) ended. The complete season 2 of Pushing Daisies is coming to DVD on July 21.

Pushing Daisies show creator Bryan Fuller had said previously that he wasn’t sure when the series’ second season would come to DVD “because it’s contingent on when/if ABC airs [the final three episodes].”

The network had rights to air the final three episodes through September, so it wasn’t likely that a Pushing Daisies season 2 DVD would see the light of day until later this year.

The season 2 Pushing Daisies DVD will feature 13 episodes on 4 discs, an “Easy as Pie” featurette with photos and behind-the-scenes stuff, and other bonus material.

Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone Canceled

EOnline.com is reporting that Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone have all been canceled by ABC.

Pushing Daisies’ cancellation was confirmed by executive producer Bryan Fuller.

E! is reporting that reps for Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money have not commented about the rumored cancellations, but inside sources reveal that both were axed.

Bryan Fuller tells E!’s Kristin Dos Santos, “[ABC president] Steve McPherson called me, and said ‘We gave it the best shot we could.’ “

So, what’s the future hold for Pushing Daisies? According to Fuller, “It’s very likely that Pushing Daisies will end after episode 13, which as you know, is a cliffhanger. But we are talking to DC Comics about doing comic books that will wrap up our storylines, and I already have a pitch for a movie ready to go. To be honest, I’m really not feeling very boo hoo about it. I am so proud of the show. We put together 22 really good episodes, and there is a lot to be proud of. I’m sure I’ll be working with a lot of these people again, and I would love to do so.”

ABC to Air Pushing Daisies Instead of Barack Obama

Instead of Wednesday’s half-hour Barack Obama ad that is taking over most of the networks, ABC has decided to air Pushing Daisies during its regularly scheduled 8 p.m. timeslot.

Barack Obama’s half-hour primetime ad will air on CBS, NBC and Fox Wednesday, October 29. Obama spent $1 million per network, but ABC was not included on the list.

Pushing Daisies is already doomed in the ratings – I can only guess that Wednesday’s episode won’t be winning its timeslot either. We’ll see…
