The premiere episode of Private Practice season 3 begins 20 minutes after May’s shocking cliffhanger that left Amy Brenneman’s character Violet a bloody victim – after a mentally ill patient kidnapped and drugged her, then stole the baby from her womb.

Amy Brenneman said the finale “jarred people so much because it just tonally went for it. It just went dark.”

Brenneman commented, “I’ve been recognized for things, but this was literally people coming up to me at Logan airport and going, ‘How are you?’ I’m like, ‘I’m good. I’m an actress. This didn’t happen to me.’ ”

Amy Brenneman comments on her character in Private Practice season 3 episode 1, saying, “Violet gets hurt big-time. She is saved. She survives, but she gets hurt. The first episode has a beautiful series of flashbacks, mostly with me and Pete about the beginning of him at the practice.”

The question of whether or not Amy Brennemen might be leaving Private Practice is one everyone’s mind this morning, probably due to the cliffhanger season finale from last night, and we’ve got the scoop. Read on if you don’t mind being spoiled.

Amy Brennemen is definitely not leaving Private Practice. The show was picked up recently for it’s third season and Brennemen will definitely be back. So that sort of spoils last night’s tense ending since you know she must make it through, but it’s also a relief for Private Practice fans.

The season finale of Private Practice was tonight, and boy was it an intense episode. If you haven’t seen the finale “Yours, Mine & Ours” and don’t want to be spoiled turn away now!

So a quick rundown:

- Addison gets asked by patient Morgan if she’s sleeping with her husband Noah, and continues emotionally cheating with him. Morgan later apologizes, and Addison stops Noah from leaving Morgan for her.
- Sam tells Naomi he loves her
- Violet is ready to pop, Sheldon wants to marry her, she rejects Pete who works up the courage to tell her his feelings for her. Do you think she’s in love with Cooper? And then that cliffhanger, with Cooper getting interrupted with a call right before seeing Violet in danger. Intense!
