Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell are reunited on The X Factor, and it feels so good!

Paula Abdul will join The X Factor’s judges’ panel, along with L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole, as well as Cowell. The X Factor will be hosted by Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones.

Cowell made the announcment about Paula Abdul, saying in a statement, “This show would never have been the same without Paula and I can’t believe I am saying this, [but] I have missed her a lot, and I am thrilled she’s on the show.”

Abdul is happy about the new gig, beaming, “I am excited beyond words to be a part of The X Factor. I couldn’t be happier to bring my love for cultivating talent and performance to such a wildly anticipated show.

Abdul added, “I’m looking forward to being back with the FOX/FremantleMedia family and know that it will be an extraordinary journey — we’re going to have a blast. I’m also delighted and grateful to be sitting next to Simon again…but you might want to check back with me in a week or two!”

Worry no more about Paula Abdul’s unemployment – Abdul announced on her website that she’ll be involved in a new show called “Got to Dance.”

Also? Paula Abdul will make an appearance on the American Idol 2010 finale to bid a fond farewell to surly judge Simon Cowell.

Paula Abdul says on her site:

“I’ve spent the better part of my life teaching, mentoring, nurturing – working with so many talented people – and I consider myself truly blessed to be able to continue to do something that I hold so dear to my heart. I am thrilled to be creative partners with Reveille, Shine, and CBS and to present the best new dance talent to American audiences. Each and every week we’ll showcase the challenges and successes of a fantastic group of dancers, as they perform and compete – compelling stories, exciting competition and amazing dance performances are guaranteed.”

On “Got to Dance,” Abdul will serve as judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach. Phew!

Got to Dance is a competitive reality series that will feature all ages and all genres of dance. Ultimately, viewers will get to place their votes for their favorite performers during the semifinals and finals.

First… What? Star Search is making a comeback?

Second… What? Paula Abdul is making a comeback? EW.com is reporting that Paula Abdul is working to finalize a deal to host and/or judge the new Star Search.

EW.com reports that their sources confirm a deal with Paula Abdul is in the works, though the specifics of her role have not yet been revealed.

Paula Abdul Offered $1 Million Development Deal, Dancing with the Stars

Paula Abdul is in hot demand by ABC, who has reportedly offered the former American Idol host a $1 million development deal… however, part of the gig is that she’d have to appear on Dancing with the Stars.

TMZ.com is reporting the rumored development deal and there’s been buzz about Abdul taking on Dancing with the Stars before… but is there any truth to it?

ABC is also reportedly on board with Paula judging “The X Factor” with Simon Cowell – another rumor that’s been floating in the breeze.

Dancing with the Stars kicks off in March, so if this is true, Paula has to make a quick decision.

This just in: Ellen DeGeneres will replace Paula Abdul as the fourth judge on American Idol! Fox has made a very good choice in choosing Ellen DeGeneres for the vacancy left by Paula Abdul – no doubt DeGeneres will increase the viewing audience, given her popularity as daytime talk show host.

And, breathe easy… Ellen DeGeneres has no plans to quit her talk show gig. What do you think of the choice of DeGeneres as replacement for Paula Abdul?

Cowell on ‘Idol’ Chemistry: Different Without Paula, Says Cowell

Simon Cowell commented on the Idol chemistry, post-Paula Abdul, and comments that American Idol is “different” without Paula.

Cowell also noted that despite the different Idol chemistry, “I miss her, of course.”

Just how different will the American Idol chemistry be without Paula? Cowell commented to Extra, “It’s like comparing a carrot to a banana… They are different.”

Our guess is that Paula was the banana in this analogy.

Avril Lavigne to Guest Judge American Idol 9

Another star joins the growing roster of American Idol guest jugest – the latest is singer Avril Lavigne, who will fill Paula Abdul’s seat for the Los Angeles auditions. Avril Lavigne joins singer Katy Perry for guest judging duties in LA, where each will spend one day dishes out the critiques.

Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry join previously announced guest judges Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Neil Patrick Harris, Shania Twain, Kristin Chenoweth and Joe Jonas.

Paula Abdul Talk Show in the Works?

Now that Paula Abdul is through with American Idol, the world is her oyster. And one of the projects she’d love to do is host a talk show!

In a TV Guide interview, Paula Abdul says, “I definitely want to do a talk show because it would be different.”

Paula Abdul gives a little insight into what her talk show would be like, saying, “Well, since there is talk about me possibly doing one I don’t want to give the goodies away. I’d be Paula. It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance.”

I find the idea of an Abdul yapfest kind of funny, considering… you know… she couldn’t form a coherent sentence on American Idol.
