Nickelodeon’s Dora The Explorer is growing up – to a new tween version, seen in this silhouette picture. Dora’s still maintaining the giant melon of a head, but has thinned out and ditched the shorts and t-shirt.

Jack Black and Yo Gabba Gabba fans – your worlds are about to collide. Look for Jack Black to appear on the trippy kids’ show Yo Gabba Gabba April 3 on Nickelodeon. Here’s a picture of Jack Black rocking out with red nubbly Muno.
Jack Black said of the Yo Gabba Gabba guest spot: ”I’m hitting two birds with one stoner, as it were. Unfortunately, I’m looking pretty sweaty and greasy. Hopefully, it won’t be too scary for the kids. But you know, Charlize Theron wasn’t looking her best in Monster and it won her the Oscar. This episode is my Monster, basically.”
The Jonas Brothers are set to perform at the March 28, 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards, as well as participate in the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Jonas Jam Sweepstakes. The Jonas Brothers are also competing in the Favorite Music Group category.

YouTube sensation (if that’s what you’d call him) “Fred” stopped by iCarly in tonight’s Monday February 16 episode – check out the video clip for a peek at Fred’s appearance on “iMeet Fred.” So, who is Fred?
Fred is a YouTube channel featuring 15-year-old Lucas Cruikshank playing Fred Figglehorn and a host of other characters. The Columbus, Nebraska teen got a chance to be on tonight’s iCarly.
Could Spectacular! reach the same heights as High School Musical? Nickelodeon is about to find out when Spectacular! premieres Monday, February 16 at 8 p.m. on the kids’ channel.

Time Warner Cable and Viacom negotiations are getting ugly, with Viacom threatening to pull the plug on Comedy Central, TV, Nickelodeon and 16 other channels at 12:01 a.m. Thursday if Time Warner doesn’t agree to a new carriage fee.
Viacom is looking to increase fees 22 percent and 36 percent per channel, ultimately increasing customers’ cable bills 23 cents a month per subscriber. Read the rest of this entry »
