SpongeBob SquarePants 10th Anniversary Special – SpongeBob and Sandy Married?

Hey now… SpongeBob and squirrely Sandy Cheeks revisit their past in the upcoming 10th anniversary SpongeBob SquarePants special – including the time they were married?

The SpongeBob SquarePants special, “Truth or Square,” will air Friday, November 6 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

Plenty of guest stars lend their talents to the SpongeBob SquarePants special, including Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, LeBron James, Rosario Dawson, Craig Ferguson, Pink, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Robin Williams, who will all appear as themselves in live-action sequences.

Ricky Gervais narrates the SpongeBob special, so there’s reason enough to tune in right there.

According to a Nickelodeon press release:

“SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs accidentally find themselves locked inside the Krusty Krab’s giant freezer on the day of the restaurant’s big “eleventy seventh” anniversary celebration. As they crawl through the ventilation system to escape, the friends reminisce about with never-before-seen flashback moments. Highlights include SpongeBob’s first visit to the Krusty Krab as a baby, a vintage Krusty Krab TV commercial, how SpongeBob found his beloved pineapple house and the time that SpongeBob and Sandy got married!”

The N Becomes TeenNick September 28, Nick Cannon Named Chairman

Nickelodeon’s The N is soon to be named “TeenNick” – September 28 marks the rebranding of the network name. And Nick Cannon (Mr. Mariah Carey) will serve as chairman to TeenNick, working to develop programming aimed at teens.

Nick Cannon said of the new gig at TeenNick, “I started my career here at Nickelodeon and am so excited to be back, serving as an integral part of TeenNick as the in-house voice and representative for teens everywhere. TeenNick is their network and I am here to make sure this is an ultimate destination for and about them.”

New Nickelodeon Logo Eliminates Splat

Wha? No more Nick splat? Nickelodeon has unveiled their new logo for the kid network, with a fairly understated and generic version.

President Cyma Zarghami said in a statement: “We wanted to clean it up and allow Nick to be the stamp on all of these channels… In asking ourselves if everything could live under the splat, we decided that the splat was dated. It just couldn’t be done in a streamlined way.”

The end of a slime splattered era.

Monsters vs. Aliens, Kung Fu Panda Coming to Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon just ordered a pilot for “Monsters vs. Aliens” from DreamWorks Animation, just a week after announcing that “Kung Fu Panda: The Series” would also land on the small screen.

The Monsters vs. Aliens and Kung Fu Panda series follow in the footsteps of DreamWorks’ “The Penguins of Madagascar” Nickelodeon series.

Also announced: a 2010 NBC Halloween special called “Scared Shrekless” and a Kung Fu Panda holiday special.

Music superstar Beyonce is about to take on a new role – as voice talent on upcoming episodes of “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!” – check out the behind-the-scenes video of Beyonce on the children’s series, where she’ll play Shine, the lead singer of girl group “The Wubb Girlz.”

Beyonce will appear on four episodes of Nickelodeon’s Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! – beginning April 27.

Jamie Lynn Spears Cancels Wedding to Casey Aldridge; Marriage is Off

According to OK! magazine, Jamie Lynn Spears has canceled her wedding to baby daddy Casey Aldridge. Jamie Lynn and Casey had been planning their marriage since she announced at age 16 she was pregnant with Aldridge’s child.

Their daughter, Maddie Briann, was born in June, at which time rumors swirled that Casey Adridge had cheated on Jamie Lynn Spears.

OK! magazine reports that a source said “The wedding’s off. They are still in love, living together and very happy, but they have no plans to get married. Jamie Lynn has everything she wants and feels no need for a ring and piece of paper.”

The Zoey 101 star may also have hung up her acting hat, with the source saying, “She has told friends and family she’s never coming back to Hollywood. She feels that part of her life is over. Jamie Lynn enjoyed every minute of doing Zoey, but since she’s had Maddie, her life has changed completely. She’s happy being a real hands-on Southern mother and hopes to continue that for years to come with Casey right by her side. Jamie Lynn knows she needs to make a living when she grows older, so she’s already discussing her career options with advisers. She wants Maddie to grow up in comfort.”
