Jason Lee to Star as Elvis Impersonator on TNT’s “Delta Blues”

There’s TV life after “My Name Is Earl” for actor Jason Lee – he’ll be taking on the starring role in TNT’s “Delta Blues” – playing a Memphis police officer and moonlighting Elvis impersonator.

Delta Blues is executive produced by George Clooney.

Jason Lee is also working on a live-action project for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, will direct the indie film “Get Back” and will next be seen on screen in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie as well as Kevin Smith’s latest, “A Couple of Dicks.”

No Deal for My Name is Earl on TBS

So, this looks like the end of My Name is Earl – what was a glimmer of hope from TBS to pick up the canceled Earl has now been squelched. The TBS deal has fallen through and now My Name is Earl fans will never know what happens when Earl gets through that list!

20th Century Fox released this statement:

“Greg Garcia’s brilliant My Name is Earl kept America laughing for the past four seasons and certainly deserved to continue for many more. While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series. As none of us, Greg included, want the show to go out on anything but a high note, we regret that we must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue. We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name Is Earl for their incredible work.”

Save My Name is Earl Twitter Campaign: “Twitition” Petition

In an effort to save recently canceled NBC comedy “My Name is Earl,” some Twitter fans started a Twitter petition (or Twitition, as they’re calling it) to try and save the series and get it back on the air.

At the time of this post, there are well over 9,000 people following EarlTwitition in an effort to save My Name is Earl.

Do you think the campaign will work? Can a Twitter outpouring effectively change the NBC execs’ minds about Earl?

My Name is Earl Cancelled

NBC has cancelled My Name is Earl – Ethan Suplee, who plays Randy, just posted the news on Twitter: “Just got the call that My Name Is Earl has been canceled. They sure did take their time with that decision or rather informing us of it.”

Sorry to hear the series is over – My Name is Earl has always been a fun part of the NBC Thursday Night lineup.

My Name is Earl Moving to Fox?

In fear of cancellation, My Name is Earl is rumored to be going the “Scrubs” route and getting picked up by another network.

While NBC has yet to confirm they have plans to cancel My Name is Earl, Nikki Finke is reporting that cancellation is on the horizon.

Declining ratings and rising production costs could be the culprit for cancellation… but like Scrubs moving to ABC, so might My Name is Earl have another life.

With former NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly now the head of Fox, there’s rumor that he may be interested in bringing Earl over to Fox.

Time will tell if Earl is headed for cancel-ville…

Inside, Jaime Pressly dishes on how she stays in shape, saying, that she gained 42 pounds during her pregnancy, but she strived to get back in shape in time for her 30th birthday party.

Jaime Pressly reveals in Shape: “I needed to get in the gym and run on the treadmill and lift weights.”

It definitely paid off.

A little cheesy, sure, but Peg Bundy’s cleavage baring tops, tight pants and high heels made her the anti-soccer mom – and we love her for it. Her unorthodox child raising be damned, Peg brought over-the-top hot to TV. Yeah, she’s trashy and unconventional… but we wouldn’t have her any other way.

The hottest mom ever to give birth while stranded on a mysteriously whack island, Claire Littleton is a blonde Australian beauty who shows she’s fragile and strong all at the same time – and all while looking out for the best interest of her baby. Too bad she’s a ghost mom now.

7. Niki Sanders (Heroes)

Niki Sanders is maybe a little too complicated for some guys, but that doesn’t detract from her sexiness. An internet stripper with issues that include split personality Jessica and a red-hot deadly temper, Niki may be a little safer to check out from a distance.

6. Rachel Green (Friends)

We watched Rachel go from sexy single woman playing the dating game, to pregnant… to mom to baby Emma in the final two seasons. And while her on-again/off-again relationship with baby daddy Ross was a rollercoaster run, new mommyhood matured Rachel and she never lost her sex appeal.

5. Margene Heffman (Big Love)

Bill Henrickson’s third – and hottest – wife on Big Love, Margene started out as the Henrickson’s babysitter but her sweet, young ways quickly found her in the wifey lineup. She’s finding her order among the wives, but her fresh-faced adorable mom definitely gets top billing among the top 5 of our list.

4. Betty Draper (Mad Men)

Betty takes the stuffy 50s/60s housewife and, despite being a picture perfect former model, gives us a glimpse at her internal suffering as a repressed (and depressed) woman. Betty is a fox, no doubt, but she wants to be the perfect wife, mother and hostess – clearly, there’s a lot she needs to sort out.

3. Kate Austen (Lost)

Kate’s a mom by default, picking up mom duties where dead mama Claire left off, but she truly cares about Aaron too. We’ve seen Kate barely clothed and making out with both Jake and Sawyer, so we know she’s got good taste in guys. Plus she’s a former fugitive – that’s kinda hot, right?

2. Becky Donaldson (Full House)

Just try and deny the hotness of Becky Donaldson on Full House. Becky and Uncle Jesse were like a fantastic force of beauty to be reckoned with – Becky’s the ultimate smiley-smiley sweet aunt, wife, friend and mother and perhaps one of the only good reasons to still watch reruns of Full House.

1. Nancy Botwin (Weeds)

Sometimes a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do – and Mary-Louise Parker’s Nancy Botwin does just that, becoming suburban pot dealer to keep her family on track. Are her methods less-than-desirable? Sure. Is she smart, funny and sexy in the process? You bet.

Jason Priestley to Guest Star on My Name is Earl

For the old school Beverly Hills 90210 fans hoping to see Jason Priestley reprise his role as Brandon – well, it ain’t gonna happen. Jason Preistley, will, however, be returning to the small screen as a guest star on My Name is Earl.

Jason Priestley will also put in some time behind the camera at 90210, directing the 18th episode of the popular spinoff.

On “My Name is Earl” Jason Priestley will play Brandon (coincidence?), “Earl’s successful, good-looking cousin,” according to an NBC publicist.

David Arquette to Guest Star on My Name is Earl

It’s fun to see the TV season ramp up and read about all of the fun guest stars on the horizon. This time around, we can look forward to a guest starring gig by David Arquette on My Name is Earl.

Quirky David Arquette will play yet another of Earl’s karmic-fixes – playing small-town stuntman Johnny, who has short-term memory issues due to a past stunt accident. Earl wants to cross Johnny off his list for sleeping with his girlfriend, but I’m guessing the memory loss is going to make this one interesting.
