Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that there may be life for the canceled CBS series “Moonlight.” Could “Moonlight” find a place on the schedule for Media Rights Capital’s two hours of programming on the CW?

“Moonlight” bosses sent this statement to E! yesterday:

It’s true. We found out about an hour ago that Moonlight has been officially canceled.

We are truly saddened by the news and are sorry that we won’t get the chance to live with our wonderful characters and follow them on their adventures for a second season.

We really want to thank all our loyal fans for their undying love and support of the show. We never would have made it this far without them.

In vampire solidarity…rah, rah!

Gabrielle Stanton & Harry Werksman

This is all very suprising, given the fairly substantial (and very loyal) fan base for “Moonlight.” Fans of the vampire drama have been flooding forums and leaving comments on blogs to voice their displeasure with CBS to axe the series.

Deadline Hollywood Daily’s source said that “there is a chance, only a chance” that Media Rights Capital “may elect to take Moonlight as one of those two hours” of programming on the CW on Sundays.

TV Week, however, seems to have the scoop on those two hours of Media Rights Capital programming on Sundays – and it doesn’t include “Moonlight.”

Who says there’s nothing to watch on network TV? There are actually a number of reasonable to good shows in the “new” batch. We’ve picked out ten that are easy on the eyes because of the hotties on the show. Note that the actresses have been picked from shows that are relatively new (i.e., started 2006 or 2007 but not 2008) and are in either the lead or supporting role of a given show.

10. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, New Adventures of Old Christine (2006). Ok, sure Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the second shortest on this list and probably the oldest, but I think she looks her MILF-y best in this hilariously stupid sitcom about relationships and family, and a really goofy, sexy, neurotic Christine character. As Jenny McCarthy has proven, there’s something sexy about a hot, funny woman.

9. Hayden Panettiere, Heroes (2006). I’m a little uncomfortable including her because she only just turned 18 last Fall. But there’s no denying that blonde Hayden Panettiere is a lovely young woman with a lot of the glamor of a 1940s actress. Also, she can sing and isn’t afraid to take on physically abusive Japanese fishermen, to protect dolphins.

8. Megyn Price, Rules of Engagement (2007). Depending on which episode of Rules of Engagement you see (or if you watch the older Grounded for Life series), blonde Megyn Price is what we once called “zaftig” or even pleasantly plump. From her apple cheeks to her sparkling eyes and warm smile, her super-buxomness straddles that line between cute and sexy.

7. Kristin Chenoweth, Pushing Daisies (2007). Blonde Kristin Chenoweth might only be 4′ 11″, but she’s dimpled, cute/ adorable, and her eyes always smile. And her Pushing Daisies character Olive Snook wears the most vibrantly colorful and revealing outfits. As person, she’s religious but extremely tolerant of everyone. That’s so much more sexy than religious fanaticism of any stripe.

6. Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies (2007). Pushing Daisies is a brilliant new dramatic comedy (yeah, they exist) and lead character Ned (Lee Pace) is in the enviable position of being loved by two women: Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth, below) and Charlotte “Chuck” Charles (Anna Friel). Technically and legally, Chuck is dead, and Ned can’t kiss her without killing her again. But for a dead girl, she’s beautiful. Brunette Friel’s facial features aren’t quite right, but she makes me think of the lovely Natalie Wood. (Hopefully Friel will never go sailing.)

5. Kaley Cuoco, The Big Bang Theory (2007). Not only is Kaley Cuoco hot, she’s even hotter because her character, Penny, in this hilarious geekcore sitcom show loves/ tolerates the hardcore geeknerd characters. Sure, she was a teenager on 8 Simple Rules, but she’s all grown up now.

4. Sophia Myles, Moonlight (2007). Yvonne Strahovski, Sophia Myles (Underworld), and Kaley Cuoco, should all be tied at 3rd because all three have a very similar look: strong cheekbones and introspective blonde beauty, not “blonde bimbo.”

3. Yvonne Strahovski, Chuck (2007). I swear, I prefer redheads and brunettes over blondes, but there’s something so alluring about Yvonne Strahovski eyes and pouty mouth. And can her character ever kick ass.

2. Gina Holden, Blood Ties (2006). Blonde Christina Cox, the lead in the Canadian-made vampire TV series Blood Ties (based on Tanya Huff’s novels) is attractive, but Gina Holden is a mysterious goth princess with long, dark hair and luscious, intelligent eyes.

1. Bianca Kajlich, Rules of Engagement (2007). This sitcom itself is passable, but I watch it mostly for Patrick Warburton (David Puddy on Seinfeld), Megyn Price, and brunette Bianca Kajlich. Because of the camera angles on the show, and the clothing her character wears, I can’t quite tell if baby got back. But she oozes sex appeal, her eyes are mischievous, and her curves just don’t quit.

And no, I didn’t include Christina Applegate in Samantha Who (which just won one or more Golden Globes). It’s not because of her dead-looking eyes; it’s because I’m still mad about the whole River Phoenix dying thing.
