Lost will air Tuesdays at 9 ET/PT for its final season. Who would have guessed that?

Let the countdown begin.

Lindelof commented: “I think even a single scene from the show would basically tip what it is we’re doing this year, and what it is we’re doing this year is different than what we’ve done in other years. That is the marketing strategy that we are trying to impose upon our masters. I can’t unequivocally say that we will be able to hold the embargo all the way up until the actual premiere, but it’s pretty cool that we’re not showing anything as late as November, so we’ll see. I think once the show actually starts, once we’re back on, then we’ll start showing people what we’re up to.”

Lindelof did give a tiny glimpse at Lost’s final season of storytelling – there will be answers!

“We’re kind of returning back to the same kind of storytelling that put us on the map in the first place and resolving some of these mysteries. I think this had got to be a record for how much patience people have, but the idea that we’re actually getting to answer some of these questions creates this incredible nostalgia, especially when you’re doing it through the characters and the actors who were there in the very beginning, so it’s pretty cool, theoretically.”

No word yet on a premiere date for Lost’s final season – 2010 is all that’s said in the promo, thought there are rumors that it will kick off in January.

Series creator Marc Cherry confirms that yes, some key characters on Desperate Housewives will die, saying: “It’s going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season.”

Cherry also hints that the DH plane crash will “affect everyone’s lives.”

In an ABC tie-in, the plane that crashes the Desperate Housewives neighborhood is rumored to be an Oceanic Airlines flight from Lost!

Lost’s final season (6) premieres in January 2010 (date not yet determined) with the episode titled “LA X.”

Matthew Fox commented, “I am not going to do television again. That is not because I think film is better than television. Not at all, in some respects some of the best story telling is happening on television. I have done two TV shows — Lost and Party of Five — that have each run for six years. When you add it all up it is in the vicinity of 300 hours of television. I want to find a way to have more control over when I am working and when I’m not. I’m looking for more flexibility.”

Matthew Fox wants to take the time away from TV to spend with his family, saying, “I am (43) and a father of two children, and I don’t want to miss them growing up. I don’t want to find myself 10 years from now feeling like I was an absentee father because I was so focused on my career.”

Fox plans to take six months off when Lost wraps, then plans on doing one or two films a year.

Naturally, this has Lost fans thinking that Dominic Monaghan’s Charlie character will return to the series – even though he was killed off.

EW.com reports that it’s not expected that Charlie will return to Lost, rather Monaghan is reportedly coming to an ABC hour-long drama as a full time cast member – but no word from the network about which show to look for him on.

Lost theorists think that ABC may be trying to throw them off the trail by saying Monaghan is joining another series… do you think he’ll return to Lost, a returning series… or something new?

Not only is Emilie de Ravin coming back to the series, but she will return to Lost as a full-time series regular for the sixth (and final!) season.
