After 28 years on the morning show, Regis Philbin finally packed it up and retired… love or hate his daytime show, it’s the end of an era.

And now it’s just Kelly Ripa at the helm… somebody better get her a permanent co-host soon, because I don’t think she can carry the whole show!

Regis Philbin Retires!

Regis Philbin retires! Wow, after oh-so-many years doing a weekly talk show, Regis Philbin announced today that he is retiring.

During Tuesday’s “Live with Regis and Kelly,” Philbin announced he will retire from the show at the end of summer, though no specific date has been set.

Regis Philbin said: “This will be my last year on the show. It’s been a long time, it’s been 28 years since I’ve been here. And it was the biggest thrill of my life. There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people.”

Long story short, Kelly Ripa is on crutches for a stress fracture in her right hip, which will heal by itself. She does, however, have to take a break from exercise!

Kelly Ripa’s crutches for the stress fracture are a must until she heals. More specifically, Ripa has a stress fracture on the fermoral neck in her right hip.

Ripa explained, “It looks much worse than it is.”

Jennifer Aniston made an oopsie when she said the word “retard” during an interview on Live with Regis and Kelly today. Watch the video at around the 2:00 minute mark, when Regis asks about her Barbra Streisand photo shoot, saying that she’s “playing dress up.”

Jennifer Aniston responds, “Yes, I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!”

Needless to say, Aniston could have selected a better choice of words. Let’s see if Jenn will be penning an apology soon.
