Lipstick Jungle Really, Truly, Officially Canceled by NBC

We reported back in November that NBC had canceled Lipstick Jungle… then Brooke Shields said no, they were still working and reports of cancellation were false.

Now Brooke Shields is confirming that NBC has officially canceled Lipstick Jungle.

Shields commented: “It was going to stay and we just were officially told it’s finally not coming back. I think a lot of people were really sad, but I think we hung on a really long time. It was three great years that we’ve been working on it.”

Brooke Shields Says Lipstick Jungle Not Yet Cancelled

Brooke Shields is staying hopeful about her NBC series, saying that Lipstick Jungle has not yet been cancelled.

According to Brooke Shields, “They thought that because My Own Worst Enemy has been shut down that the same thing had happened to us, and it’s not true.”

Brooke Shields also commented, “They’re not breaking down the sets. We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it’s erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God. Our bosses are saying, ‘You’re not canceled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.’”

Brooke Shields is optimistic about Lipstick Jungle’s future, saying, “I mean, we’re basically No. 1 if you look at DVR. And you look at all that. So the public is watching it. The problem that they have is it’s not the same day live. They just need to figure out how to reconcile advertisers’ money because the advertisers don’t want you fast forwarding commercials.”

NBC Cancels Lipstick Jungle

NBC is making cuts (see My Own Worst Enemy) – Lipstick Jungle has been cancelled.

Lipstick Jungle’s cancellation comes on the heels of the kiss of death move to Friday nights. Once that was announced, the writing was on the wall that it would be canceled soon.

Makes you wonder how Knight Rider ever got picked up for a full season.

Is Lipstick Jungle heading towards cancellation? NBC announced that it will move the series to Friday nights, which can only mean the kiss of death for Lipstick Jungle.

Last week’s ratings for Lipstick Jungle turned up a series low of 4.3 million viewers, down fromo 5 million for its October 8 episode.

Stay tuned – we smell a canceled announcement coming for Lipstick Jungle.

Lindsay Price, 31, said of the naked Esquire photo shoot,

“For the first minute, I just wanted to know what [the photographer] thought and whether or not I looked okay. And then at a certain point I just forgot that I wasn’t wearing any clothes. By the end, I had this abandon and this confidence. I felt sexy. I’m not an exhibitionist, but this made me understand how it’s thrilling to be the center of attention, to be the sexiest one in the room.”

NBC has officially announced their 2008/2009 schedule. New shows include My Own Worst Enemy, Kath & Kim, starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, Knight Rider (for real – they picked up the series following the success of the February movie!), Crusoe, The Philanthropist, Merlin and Kings.

Perhaps one of the more interesting new NBC series is a spin-off of The Office. But why?
