NBC has officially announced their 2008/2009 schedule. New shows include My Own Worst Enemy, Kath & Kim, starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, Knight Rider (for real – they picked up the series following the success of the February movie!), Crusoe, The Philanthropist, Merlin and Kings.

Perhaps one of the more interesting new NBC series is a spin-off of The Office. But why?

For fans of any new series, the best news is hearing that your faves got a full season order – good news for fans of “Chuck” and “Life,” both of which got the full season pickup from NBC.

“Chuck,” starring Zachary Levi, airs Mondays at 8 PM and averages 8.4 million viewers. “Life,” starring Damian Lewis airs Wednesdays at 10 PM and averages 8 million viewers.

According to Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, “‘Chuck’ and ‘Life’ stand out in a crowded TV landscape because they are smart, well-produced series with incredibly talented casts. Both shows are hitting their stride creatively, have developed loyal audiences and offer unlimited potential to grow throughout the season.”
