Comedian Greg Giraldo Dead at Age 44, Following Overdose

Too sad. Comedian Greg Giraldo is dead at age 44 – Giraldo’s death comes five days after he was hospitalized for an overdose, reports TMZ.com.

You may recall Greg Giraldo overdosed on prescription pills over the weekend and was hospitalized in New Brunswick, NJ.

Giraldo served as a judge on “Last Comic Standing.”

A source tells TMZ: “Greg passed away today at the hospital in New Brunswick as a result of an accidental overdose. His family was by his side.”

Very sad.

Greg Giraldo Accidental Overdose, In Critical Condition

Comedian Greg Giraldo’s accidental overdose and hospitalization over the weekend is making headlines this morning. Greg Giraldo, a judge on “Last Comic Standing” and a Howard Stern Show regular, is reportedly in critical condition following the overdose.

A source at Greg Giraldo’s management company confirmed the news: “It was an accidental overdose, and he is in critical condition.”

Giraldo reportedly overdosed on prescription pills during a party at his Hilton hotel room in East Brunswick, NJ on Saturday night. Giraldo was found unconscious and had to be resuscitated by paramedics.

Last Comic Standing Winner Iliza Shlesinger Announces Tour Dates on Howard Stern

Iliza Shlesinger, who was the winner of the 2008 edition of “Last Comic Standing,” appeared on The Howard Stern Show this morning to talk about her win and life on the road, as well as her upcoming tour dates.

Iliza Shlesinger recently toured with the “Last Comic Standing” finalists – all men – and they apparently aren’t big fans of hers (she won $250,000 on the show) because they didn’t talk to her much during their tour.

Iliza Shlesinger also dished with Howard Stern about working in a strip club – it was only a few days and she didn’t do the stripping… she was the coat check girl.

Iliza Shlesinger was named the first female winner of Last Comic standing. Iliza Shlesinger won the Last Comic Standing honor on the stand-up competition, landing a sweet quarter million dollars in her pocket! Congrats!
