Watch the Larry King Live video clip, where Dr. Laura tells King that the decision to leave the radio show came because her contract is up at the end of the year and wants to regain her First Amendment rights, without people getting angry.

But this isn’t the last you’ve heard of Dr. Laura, who says she’s not quitting or retiring: “I want to be able to say what’s on my mind and in my heart and what I think is helpful and useful without somebody getting angry – some special interest group deciding this is a time to silence a voice of dissent and attack affiliates and sponsors.”

Larry King posted the following on CNN.com: “I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall and CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games.”

The end of Larry King’s talk show comes early – his contract would have expired in June 2011.

King will continue to appear on CNN with the occasional special.

“Before I start the show tonight, I want to share some personal news with you. 25 years ago, I sat across this table from New York Governor Mario Cuomo for the first broadcast of Larry King Live.

Now, decades later, I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall and CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games.

I’ll still be a part of the CNN family, hosting several Larry King specials on major national and international subjects.

I’m incredibly proud that we recently made the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot. With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders.”

King has conducted an astounding 50,000 interviews in his 53-year broadcasting career.

James Cameron also talks about being quoted as saying that “morons [who] don’t know what they’re doing” were handling the disaster. He explains it was a “classic case of out of context… The other shoe dropping on the story was, but then I got into it and I talked to petroleum engineers and we started this study group … They’re not morons.”

Cameron added that this is a complex problem to solve and that “There are good engineers out there … working very hard. It’s a very, very complex problem to solve.”

Larry King and wife Shawn Southwick are getting divorced, as rumors swirl that King had an affair with Southwick’s sister, Shannon Engemann.

But is there any truth to the rumors?

In their divorce filing, both Southwick and King cite the old “irreconcilable differences.”

Corey Feldman tells Larry King: “Where were all these people the last 10 years, the last 15 years, of Corey’s life?”

Feldman continues, “Where were all these people to lend a handout, to reach out to him and say, you’re a legend, you’re an amazingly talented wonderful person who’s never really gone out of his way to hurt anyone, other than himself? In this entertainment industry, in Hollywood, we build people up as children, we put them on pedestals, and then, when we decide they’re not marketable anymore, we walk away from them. Then we taunt them and we tease them … It’s okay for society as a whole to poke fun at, to point fingers at, us as human beings. Why is it okay to kick somebody when they’re down? I don’t think it should be tolerated anymore.”

Corey Haim died yesterday at age 38.

Andrew’s parents, Walter Koenig and Judy Levin-Koenig, were scheduled guests on Larry King, but did not appear on the show, for reasons unknown.

Larry King said on the air: “For some reason unbeknownst to anyone, Walter Koenig, the father of the missing Andrew Koenig, and [Andrew's mother] Judy Levin-Koenig…left the studio in Vancouver.”

King continued, “We checked them out, they were prepared to go on, I said ‘hello,’ they said ‘hello.’ We said we’d be on in two minutes, they said ‘fine.’ And they got up and left, for reasons unknown.”

Andrew Koenig’s sister Danielle did talk with Larry King about her brother’s disappearance – you can watch that video clip here.

Danielle commented, “It’s just very upsetting. My brother does suffer from depression, so we’re very, very worried about him, and we just want to find him.”

Later, King tweeted: “Still not sure what happened with the Koenigs. I talked to them in the break and told them they were on next. Then they left…”
