American Idol finalist Kristy Lee Cook made it to the next step, post-Idol – she just signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville. Her first single, 15 Minutes of Shame, will land August 11, with plans for a fall album.
This isn’t Kristy Lee Cook’s first record deal either – she was signed to Arista Nashville as a teenager, but was dropped before the recording happened.

Well, she didn’t win the American Idol crown, but Kristy Lee Cook did wrangle herself an engagement during last night’s American Idol.
According to Kristy Lee Cook, her 25-year-old boyfriend, Andrew Dobner, already asked the American Idol wannabe if she would marry him on March 17. They kept the engagement news “on the down-low” so Kristy Lee cook could “be focused on Idol.” Read the rest of this entry »
After 36 million votes, Kristy Lee Cook was eliminated during the April 16 American Idol results show.
Ryan tried to trick us out by grouping Jason Castro, Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado in one group; David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook and Brooke White in another. Then he switched David Cook and Syesah Mercado at the end. Syesha Mercado, Kristy Lee Cook and Brooke White were in the bottom three, but it was Kristy Lee Cook who was sent packing.
