Wow, how fun is this news? “Arrested Development” star (and “30 Rock” guest star) Will Arnett will be the voice of KITT, the macked out Ford Mustang in the sequel to the popular 1980s series “Knight Rider.” If you’re not familiar with Arnett’s voice, you’ve probably heard it on many a television commercial – he’s got the perfect pipes to take on this role.

The “Knight Rider” sequel will begin as a two-hour movie on February 17 at 9 PM. Old “Knight Rider” star David Hasselhoff will be on hand as Michael Knight, but some new blood will be carrying the series: Justin Bruening (”Cold Case,” “All My Children”), Deanna Russo (”NCIS,” “The Young and the Restless”), Sydney Tamiia Poitier (”Veronica Mars”) and Bruce Davison (“Breach,” “Close to Home”).

Have you heard about the return of the 80s classic, “Knight Rider”? I don’t know, it may just be crazy enough to work. And now David Hasselhoff is in talks to appear in the upcoming revamp – kind of interesting, since “Knight Rider” was the show that made him a household name. Maybe joining “Knight Rider” can erase that drunken video of The Hoff sloppily eating a hamburger? One can only hope.

Hasselhoff will reprise his role as Michael Knight in this sequel that follows Michael Knight’s son, Mike Tracer (played by Justin Bruening). Mike Tracer’s girlfriend will be the estranged daughter of KITT’s inventor. Oh, let the fun begin.
