Good news for DJ Lance and the gang – Nickelodeon has renewed Yo Gabba Gabba! for a third season on Nick Jr. and Noggin.

Parents can breathe a little easier now that Nickelodeon and Mattel have released a picture of the tween Dora the Explorer – thankfully, she’s not a carbon copy of the sexed up Bratz dolls, as many had feared. Oh – and the new tween Dora line of dolls will not be replacing the preschool Dora the Explorer, rather, the line of Dora’s Explorer Girls will be targeted to girls ages 5-8. Chris Brown has taken his name off the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards ballot in response to the petition and other complaints that were made to the network. While Nickelodeon intended to keep Chris Brown on the list of nominees, Brown withdrew his name.
Dwayne Johnson is hosting the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 28 (8 p.m.) – check out this promo video, where he gets some tips from previous Kids’ Choice host Justin Timberlake.
Despite the recent beating incident of girlfriend Rihanna, Nickelodeon is keeping singer Chris Brown on their Kids’ Choice Awards ballot. You can bet plenty of people are outraged – in fact a petition is making the rounds to have Chris Brown’s name removed.

Nickelodeon’s Dora The Explorer is growing up – to a new tween version, seen in this silhouette picture. Dora’s still maintaining the giant melon of a head, but has thinned out and ditched the shorts and t-shirt.

The High School Musical legacy lives on in a new sequel! The Disney Channel announced that a High School Musical 4 original movie has been given the green light.
Don’t expect any of your favorite Wildcats to come back, however – High School Musical 4 will feature a whole new cast, and will focus on a “classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.” Read the rest of this entry »
