It’s been a wild ride for the CBS reality series “Kid Nation.” The controversy over the social experiment that leaves kids ages 8 to 15 alone in a ghost town to create their own community finally comes to an end tonight. The winner of “Kid Nation,” the one who has contributed the most, receives $50,000. Will that be enough to pay for the therapy these kids will need now that it’s over?

Anyone out there watching “Kid Nation” or have you followed the investigation by the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office? I haven’t, but it is noteworthy that the “Kid Nation” child welfare and labor law investigation has been dropped due to a lack of any formal complaints.
Casting for “Kid Nation 2” is underway – just one little problem. The show has not yet been renewed, but it “would be ready in the event of a pick-up,” given the early casting and preproduction.
