Watch Katie Couric on the Today show – sitting down with Matt Lauer for an interview about her new book, “The Best Advice I Ever Got” and talking about what’s next for Couric.

Katie Couric said she wanted to reach out to people she’s interviewed over the years and gather their advice in a collection.

Couric shares some of the famous folks’ advice, including “manners really matter” and other life lessons to keep trying in life and not give up.

Lauer asks Couric about the rumors she’s leaving her anchor post, asking, “What are you going to do?” She says she loves her job and is “in the middle of figuring it out.”

Couric said she hopes to make a decision in the next few weeks.

Couric asks, “Will you have a hard time being brutally honest?”

Seems Ellen can be honest without being cruel. She says: “I won’t have a hard time being brutally honest. But I won’t be mean. You don’t have to be mean to be honest.”

Three years ago… and the Katie Couric dance pics are just finding their way online? Not too shabby, really.

Check out a video clip of the Katie Couric Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger interview on 60 Minutes. Sully Sullenberger was the heroic US Airways Flight 1549 pilot who safely landed the plane in the Hudson River.

Sully Sullenberger told Katie Couric: “It was the worst, sickening, pit-of-your-stomach, falling through the floor feeling I’ve ever felt in my life. I knew immediately it was very bad.”

Katie Couric asked: “Did you think how are we going to get ourselves out of this?”

“No,” Sullenberger answered. “My initial reaction was one of disbelief.”

After Matt Lauer’s interview with Sully Sullenberger was delayed to allow more time into the investigation of the Hudson River US Airways crash, looks like Katie Couric snuck in and stole Sully out from under old Matt.

CBS Evening News’ Katie Couric Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger will be featured on 60 Minutes on February 8.
