Maybe Oprah is getting her own TV network (incidentally, called OWN), but Ellen DeGeneres reigns supreme among TV viewers.
In a Harris Poll released yesterday, Ellen DeGeneres topped Oprah Winfrey as favorite television personality. Last year, Ellen DeGeneres was sitting in the number eight spot, while Oprah has landed the number one spot for five years in a row. Read the rest of this entry »

Hurray! Award season is upon us, with the announcement of the Golden Globe nominations this morning. Yeah, yeah, lots of great films and movie stars were nominated, but what about the Golden Globe TV nominations? Definitely some noteworthy shows and actors to choose from. The 2008 Golden Globe Awards air on January 13th at 8 PM on NBC. Here are the nominations:
In the grand tradition of musical episodes – “Buffy,” “Drew Carey,” “Scrubs,”… heck, even rumors of an “Ugly Betty” musical are in the works – comes word that “House” may pull off a musical episode too. No firm plans have been finalized, but Jennifer Morrison, who plays Allison Cameron, told TV Guide, “I’m sure it would be a very sarcastic musical.”
Well, the good Dr. House has to stay in shape. Hugh Laurie’s workout of choice? Boxing.
The House star has found boxing to be effective, but he’s not ready for the boxing ring yet. According to Laurie, “It is fascinating. I swank around thinking I am a big cheese, but you do not feel like that when you are in the ring with a chap who knows what he is doing.”
