Here’s a little secret – although I’m 33 and have kids and am therefore allegedly a grown-up, I have a mild huge obsession with shows that revolve around high school. Sad but true. I still miss high school dramas like Beverly Hills 90210, Buffy, and The O.C.. Alas.

So it’s no surprise that I *love* Gossip Girl. I can vicariously enjoy the gossipy world of high society high school kids without being part of it. Yes! Here’s the promo for next week’s episode called “Hi Society” which will air December 5th.

Gossip Girl at the Ballet

Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, who plays the bitchy socialite teen Blair Waldorf, was spotted at the New York City Ballet on Tuesday evening, looking gorgeous in a brown gown. She met up with her costar, Nicole Fiscella, who plays Isabel, and she looked equally stunning in her shiny gown.

You could totally believe that it’s the characters themselves at the ballet, considering their high society lifestyles. But then you notice that Leighton is smiling so you know it’s really her and not Blair – Blair never looks that genuinely happy unless she’s busy destroying someone!

What’s the Buzz About Gossip Girl?

Gossip Girl Cast

The CW’s Gossip Girl has been making a buzz. What’s the deal? This rather scandalous teen drama has been called a combination of Sex and the City and The OC. As it turns out, this show has plans to only become more scandalous in the future, bringing it even closer to those two shows. It has the Sex and the City look but younger and slightly different.

The wealthy teens in this show are pressured to measure up to what their parents are – and what they have. In an interview with E! News, Penn Badgley, who plays Dan Humphrey on the show said that, “When there’s nobody to make mistakes for you, you kinda end up having to learn on your own.”

Humphrey adds that one of the good things about this show is that the show portrays the kids who are doing drugs and having sex suffering repercussions.

Gossip Girl airs Wednesdays at 9pm on the CW.

Heroes: More Questions Than Answers?

Heroes Season 2 Cast

If you’ve been following the TV show, Heroes, you know that last night was supposed to solve the question of the missing three months. We were supposed to have all of our questions answered. I think, though, that I have just as many – if not more – questions as before.

After Claire is saved, Peter and Nathan Petrelli are left soaring through the air, relying on Nathan’s flight abilities. Unfortunately, Peter is having a hard time with it, and Peter lets go. When he is next seen, Nathan is scarred and burned, basically looking like a walking scab.

Peter, once he is found, is offered help by The Company, and ends up institutionalized. While in the building, Adam, who is also Takezo Kensei addresses him, and starts talking to him. Peter’s not really in the mood – he’s trying to “get better.” To do so, he’s been prescribed pills and receiving electrical zaps from Elle, which reduces his abilities. Adam, meanwhile, is opening Peter’s eyes to their situation. “Have you looked around?” He asks, implying that they’re not in an institution at all, but a jail. He challenges Peter to try and get out, also tempting him with the knowledge that he can save his brother.

Kristin Bell as Heroes “Elle”

And now, here’s where we need to decide. The man with the glasses who works for the company and is only known as “Bob” (and who is also Elle’s father) is uncharted territory. When he first approached Dr. Mohinder Saresh – I assumed he was a bad guy. And then, he seemed to have begun to agree with Saresh – and seemed just like some poor, downtrodden man who does what he’s told by his boss. He, Saresh, and Niki are working together against Matt Parkman’s father – a telepath who is trying to kill them – when he gets Niki and she injects the poison into her veins. But then, in last week’s episode Bob warned against a greater evil: Adam.

And now, this week, we’ve met Adam. And he doesn’t seem that bad. In fact, I kinda get the feeling he might be a good guy: he helps Peter escape, and he helped heal Nathan (who no longer looks like a scab, but is, in fact, completely healed without any burn marks or anything).

There is, however, one thing to consider: Takezo Kensei aka Adam is old, from feudal Japan. And he may have gone down as a hero, but we already know that’s because Hiro Nakaruma himself was the her… the real Takezo Kensei was anything but. So… has he changed and is he now a good guy? Or is it just another character pretending to be something he’s not? He has, after all, had several hundred years to change his character – but do people really change?
