
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) granted a waiver prior to the writers’ strike to allow Film Independent, the Spirit Awards organizer, to hire writers.

While Katherine Heigl and Alec Baldwin have been the most vocal about skipping the Golden Globe Awards, there are likely to be other stars that will also boycott the event in support of the writers’ strike.

I doubt she’ll be the only one to boycott the Golden Globes, but Katherine Heigl is so far the most outspoken about not crossing the picket line to attend the ceremony.
Katherine Heigl grabbed a best supporting actress nomination this morning for “Grey’s Anatomy,” but told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m not crossing the picket line [to attend] unless I’m contractually obliged to do so. And I’m not [obligated] with the Golden Globes.”

How much do I love Tina Fey? Her wit is so sharp — and “30 Rock” is one of the best comedies on television right now.

“It” girl of the moment, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere, will announce the Golden Globe nominations next week. The other announcer has not yet been disclosed. Will Hayden Panettiere be announcing a nomination for “Heroes?” Check back December 13 to find out who is nominated.

Rumer Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, has been selected as Miss Golden Globe for the 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards. This coveted position is… aw, heck, who am I kidding? It’s the girl that gets to wear the pretty dress and escort presenters and Golden Globe winners off of the stage. Many a famous child has had the job post, including Laura Dern (daughter of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern), Joely Fisher (daughter of Connie Stevens and Eddie Fisher) and Melanie Griffith (Tippi Hedren’s daughter). Ms. Willis will grace the stage for the live telecast on January 13, 2008.
