Fringe Gets Second Season Renewal

Fox announced today that the sci-fi series Fringe has been renewed for a second season. The Fringe renewal is good news for fans of the J.J. Abrams series, who who nervous that the show might get canceled.

Fringe is the number one new program among viewers 18-49. Look for the Fringe season finale on May 12, with guest star Leonard Nimoy.

“Fringe” Gets Full Season Order

J.J. Abrams has another hit on his hands – the Fox series “Fringe” was given a full season order, after just a few weeks of airing.

Fringe, starring Joshua Jackson and Anna Torv, averages 10.7 million total viewers each week.

“Fringe” stars Anna Torv, Dawson’s Creek’s Joshua Jackson and Lord of the Rings’ John Noble. Other cast members of “Fringe” incude Mark Valley, Lance Reddick and Blair Brown.

“Fringe” is described as a crime show that investigates different mysteries each week.

“Dawson Creek” star Joshua Jackson (Pacey) is returning to the small screen — and in a pretty high-profile new series, courtesy of J.J. Abrams (“Alias,” “Lost,” “Cloverfield”).

Joshua Jackson will join the cast of “Fringe,” a Fox drama, playing sci-fi mystery investigator Peter Bishop. Other cast members include John Noble (“The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”), who will play Joshua Jackson’s scientist dad, and Australian actress Anna Torv, who will play an FBI agent.

If you haven’t heard much about “Fringe,” be prepared — no doubt with J.J. Abrams’ name attached and a reported $10 million budget for the two-hour pilot, there will be a lot of marketing buzz. According to Abrams, the series will have a lot of similarities to “The X-Files,” “Altered States,” and “The Twilight Zone”.
