Have you seen the video of Paula Deen getting hit with a ham? I don’t know why, put Paula taking a face hit with a flying ham gives me flashbacks to Marcia Brady getting smashed in the nose with a football.

Not to worry though – Paula Deen was hit with a ham but lived to tell about it. Deen suffered a sore nose, saying, “I thought it busted my lip, but it didn’t.”

Iron Chef’s Mark Dacascos – “The Chairman” – on “Dancing With the Stars”? Mark Dacascos isn’t even the kookiest Dancing with the Stars’ contestant for the upcoming season, but “The Chairman” will certainly bring his dramatic flair to the dance floor, no doubt.

Mark Dacascos is an actor and martial artist, but his role as “The Chairman” on Food Network’s Iron Chef America is how many people know him – he’s been The Chairman since 2005.

I’m betting Mark Dacascos will go pretty far in the Dancing with the Stars competition, giving his martial arts background.

Cat Cora Welcomes Baby Thatcher Julius Cora: It’s a Boy for Cat and Jennifer Cora

Iron Chef America’s Cat Cora welcomed baby Thatcher Julius Cora on April 4. Her partner, Jennifer Cora, gave birth to their son on April 4.

Baby Thatcher Julius Cora weighed in at 7 lbs. and is the result of in-vitro fertilization. Cat Cora is also six months pregnant with a son.

Cat and Jennifer Cora have two sons who Jennifer also gave birth to – Zoran, 5, and Caje, 23 months.

So, how did Jennifer and Cat Cora come up with baby Thatcher Julius Cora’s name? OK! magazine reports that “Cat and Jennifer loved the old English name Thatcher, and Julius was Jennifer’s grandfather’s name.”

Food Network’s Latest Reality Series: “Eat the Clock” Eating Competition

The Food Network is joining in on the competitive eating genre with their new series, “Eat the Clock.”

Blech. Sounds pretty gross – with two teams buzzing around Los Angeles restaurants to stuff their faces in a variety of challenges.

If “Eat the Clock” gets picked up, it will air in early 2009. Will viewers tune in?

Rachael Ray Scarf Causes Dunkin Donuts To Pull Commercial

Who would think uber-perky Food Network queen/cookbook maven/talk show host Rachael Ray would be involved in controversy? Rachael Ray sports a scarf in a recent Dunkin Donuts commercial that bears some similarity to a keffiyeh, a headdress worn by Arab men — and what do you know? Dunkin Donuts is pulling the commercial as a result.

Michelle Malkin of Fox News explained, “The keffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad. Popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos, the apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant and not-so-ignorant fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons.”

Dunkin’ Donuts released this statement about pulling the racy Rachael Ray scarf ad: “In a recent online ad, Rachael Ray is wearing a black-and-white silk scarf with a paisley design. It was selected by her stylist for the advertising shoot. Absolutely no symbolism was intended. However, given the possibility of misperception, we are no longer using the commercial.”

Giada De Laurentiis Has Baby Girl

Food Network star and Today show contributor Giada De Laurentiis had a baby girl over the weekend.

According to Giada De Laurentiis’ rep, “De Laurentiis and husband Todd Thompson welcomed their first child, a healthy baby girl, on Saturday March 29 in Los Angeles. Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson weighed in at 5lbs, 13oz.”

This is the couple’s first child.
