Scrubs, Better Off Ted, FlashForward Cancelled

News that Scrubs, Better Off Ted and FlashForward are cancelled came last night, as reported by EW.com. None of these are surprises, given Scrubs’ and FlashForward’s dwindling ratings over the year, and the lack of promotional love for the awesome Better Off Ted all but sealed its fate.

We reported back in February that it looked like Better Off Ted would be canceled, FlashForward really lost momentum and the revamped Scrubs just never got off the ground.

And in case anyone cares, Alyssa Milano’s new series, Romantically Challenged was also canceled… because it was comedically challenged.

ABC has yet to comment on the cancellations.

FlashForward Takes a Break; FlashForward Returns March 4 After Hiatus

FlashForward is taking a rather lengthy hiatus – you won’t be seeing the series back on the schedule until March 4.

TVGuide.com is confirming the news, with an ABC spokesperson telling them that with the return in March, FlashForward will be able to air new episodes back-to-back without repeats.

FlashForward started strong with its debut grabbing 12.4 million viewers, but ratings have steadily dropped – the November 19 episode only managed 7.97 million viewers.

Are you a FlashForward fan? I wanted to like it, but lost interest after just a few episodes.

FlashForward Gets Full Season Pick Up

FlashForward has proven itself worthy – ABC announced today that it has ordered a full season pick up for the freshman sci-fi series.

FlashForward is nabbing more than 11 million viewers each week as people tune in to find out why everyone blacks out for 137 seconds and sees a glimpse of their future – on April 29, 2010.

Watch FlashForward episode 1 in this video clip… well, the first 17 minutes of the new series, anyway. FlashForward, starring Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Dominic Monaghan, Gabrielle Union and Courtney B. Vance, premieres September 24 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

ABC’s FlashForward Print Ads Feature Internet Technology (Video)

ABC’s FlashForward has taken a new approach to print advertising… placing black-and-white codes in certain ads that, when held up to a webcam, become an Internet 3-D ad for the new series.

The 3-D ad, once activated from the FlashForward print ad, features photos from the show that can be clicked on for clips from the series.

Darren Schillace, ABC Entertainment advertising/marketing VP said, “It appears to play right out of the ad. Once you watch all the videos, it’s a 10-minute experience. In the normal world, you’d never spend 10 minutes with a print ad.”

The FlashForward ads will run in Wired, Popular Mechanics and some gaming magazines.
