Ryan O’Neal reflects on Farrah Fawcett’s last moments in this Today show interview with Meredith Vieira, his first interview since her death.

Ryan on Farrah’s last moments:

“It was horrible. It was horrible. It was – he [the doctor] thought that she would live just another couple of hours, and she lived a couple of days. So I had a bed put in the room for me. And I just lay by her side. And she wouldn’t – move on. She wouldn’t pass. She just – she just looked at us with – with a slight smile. Was awful. And then… and then all the machines flat lined. After about… 16 hours. And she was… she was gone.”

We all knew it was coming, but super sad news… Farrah Fawcett is dead following her long battle with cancer. Fawcett’s death was not surprising as family came to her bedside last night. Fawcett was 62.

Farrah Fawcett died at 9:28 a.m. PST today at St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, California. Longtime partner Ryan O’Neal and her friends, Alana Stewart and hairdresser Mela Murphy were at her side.

Ryan O’Neal told People.com, “She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages. She’s now with he mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”

Sadly, Farrah Fawcett’s health is apparently getting worse – NY Daily News is reporting that Farrah Fawcett has been read last rites, as loved ones visited her bedside last night.

Farrah Fawcett is currently in a Los Angeles hospital, fighting a long struggle with anal cancer.

Farrah Fawcett’s publicist, Arnold Robinson, only said that “she is still being treated for her condition.”

A 20/20 interview with Ryan O’Neal airs Friday night, where O’Neal tells Barbara Walters, “I’ve asked her to marry me again, and she’s agreed.”

Ryan O’Neal tells Barbara Walters in a new interview that he and Farrah Fawcett are engaged. In the Friday, June 26 20/20 interview, Ryan O’Neal says, “I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed.”

Ryan O’Neal tells Barbara Walters in the exclusive interview that Farrah Fawcett, 62, is “fighting for her life” after her 2006 diagnosis with anal cancer.

O’Neal says his wedding to Farrah Fawcett will happen, confirming, “I promise you, we will… Absolutely.”

“Farrah’s Story” Watched by Nearly 9 Million; Farrah Fawcett Cancer Documentary (Video)

“Farrah’s Story,” the Farrah Fawcett documentary chronicling the last two years of her battle with anal cancer, snagged 8.9 million viewers on Friday. A video clip of “Farrah’s Story” is above, with more after the jump.

“Farrah’s Story” is the video diary that Farrah Fawcett chose to do to show her diagnosis and treatment for cancer.

“Farrah’s Story” is as real as it gets, and Fawcett, 62, openly shares her fear and optimism about having cancer as well as the grueling chemotherapy treatment.

Farrah Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 – the cancer has since spread to her liver.

In Farrah’s Story, Fawcett says, “I do not want to die of this disease. So I say to God, ‘It is seriously time for a miracle.’”

Farrah Fawcett said of the Farrah’s Story cancer video diaries: “This film is very personal. At the time, I didn’t know if anybody would ever see it. But at some point, the footage took on a life of its own and dictated that it be seen.”

Farrah’s Story is a personal first-hand account of Fawcett’s battle with anal cancer and her treatment.
