Always hilarious Rick Gervais and always perky Jennifer Garner will star opposite one another in the film “This Side of the Truth.” Gervais, known for creating the original British version of “The Office,” as well as “Extras,” will co-write and co-direct the film.

Gervais will play a man who is so adept at lying that he lands a beautiful woman, played by Garner. Production will begin in the spring.

Ricky Gervais fans are about to shed a tear for the series finale of his HBO show “Extras.” Much like Gervais planned with the original British version of “The Office,” “Extras” will have its final showing with a special finale episode. Titled “The Extra Special Series Finale,” the 80-minute show will air Sunday, December 16th. Find out what happens with Gervais’ character Andy Millman, his clueless agent (Stephen Merchant) and his best buddy Maggie (played by the adorable Ashley Jensen, who can currently be seen as seamstress Christina McKinney on “Ugly Betty”). And of course, what would “Extras” be without special celebrity guests – the season finale will include Clive Owen, David Tennant, George Michael and Gordon Ramsay.
