This just in: Ellen DeGeneres will replace Paula Abdul as the fourth judge on American Idol! Fox has made a very good choice in choosing Ellen DeGeneres for the vacancy left by Paula Abdul – no doubt DeGeneres will increase the viewing audience, given her popularity as daytime talk show host.
And, breathe easy… Ellen DeGeneres has no plans to quit her talk show gig. What do you think of the choice of DeGeneres as replacement for Paula Abdul?
Ellen DeGeneres will serve as a guest judge on next week’s So You Think You Can Dance – DeGeneres and choreographer Mia Michaels will join judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy to judge the remaining 8 finalists on Wednesday, July 22.
Next week’s 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance, on July 23, will feature a special performance of “Get Happy” by Katie Holmes.
Tune in tonight for Ellen DeGeneres’ variety show, “Ellen’s Bigger, Longer and Wider Show” – TBS at 9 p.m. The video clip above has Ellen answering the audience’s questions. I’m always amazed at how quickly she can think on her feet to pull out hilarious answers.
There’s been a lot of buzz lately that Kara DioGuardi will leave her post as American Idol judge after this season, but Simon Cowell says otherwise. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, to air today, Cowell assures that “everyone’s going to be back” next year.
Simon Cowell tells Ellen in the interview, “All these contestants have signed up for our show and it’s the most important thing in their life and all we’re talking about is whether we’re (the judges are) going to be on the show or not. It’s all a bit out of kilter here. I think certainly next year everyone’s going to be back.”
