Pushing Daisies’ cancellation was confirmed by executive producer Bryan Fuller.

E! is reporting that reps for Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money have not commented about the rumored cancellations, but inside sources reveal that both were axed.

Bryan Fuller tells E!’s Kristin Dos Santos, “[ABC president] Steve McPherson called me, and said ‘We gave it the best shot we could.’ “

So, what’s the future hold for Pushing Daisies? According to Fuller, “It’s very likely that Pushing Daisies will end after episode 13, which as you know, is a cliffhanger. But we are talking to DC Comics about doing comic books that will wrap up our storylines, and I already have a pitch for a movie ready to go. To be honest, I’m really not feeling very boo hoo about it. I am so proud of the show. We put together 22 really good episodes, and there is a lot to be proud of. I’m sure I’ll be working with a lot of these people again, and I would love to do so.”

Katie Holmes will play an attorney on the upcoming episode of Eli Stone, and accordint to ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson, “She was fabulous at the table read. There’s some singing and dancing that she does – its exquisite.”

While it’s unclear which episode of Eli Stone Katie Holmes will appear on, the season premiere airs October 14.

According to a source Jennifer Garner “is five months pregnant.”

But… wait. Now Victor Garber is back tracking a bit. He tells E! News that his words were taken out of context by UsMagazine.com, saying “I haven’t confirmed that at all, no. I know they want to have another child and hopefully that’s true, but I don’t know that.”

Guess we’ll just have to wait for a pregnancy confirmation from Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck themselves. Daughter Violet is now two years old.

So, why is the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) all hot and bothered?

Well, the premiere episode of “Eli Stone” involves a plotline that links a vaccination (actually, a mercury-based preservative in the immunization) with a child’s autism. AAP is crying foul and attempted to get ABC to pull the episode.

The president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Renee R. Jenkins, told the New York Times that the AAP is concerned the episode’s assertion “could lead to a tragic decline in immunization rates.”

ABC decided to air the episode, but will include a disclaimer that says: “The following story is fictional and does not portray any actual persons, companies, products, or events.” The network will also provide the Center for Disease Control’s autism website.
