Joss Whedon is confirming the news that he will in fact be directing an episode of “Glee.” We only have the highest expectations for Whedon, who pulled off the most fabulous musical episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and gave us the brilliant “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” Oh yeah, plus Joss Whedon has scores of fans as the creator of Dollhouse, Angel and Firefly, among other goodies on his resume.

Joss Whedon posted at Whedonesque.com: “…unless something very odd happens in the next few months, I will have the privilege of shooting an episode of GLEE.”

He continues: “I just want to work with good people on a show that I like enough to have watched every episode several times.”

Plus, Whedon promises, “I’m going to do my best, and more importantly, I’m going to do my best not to gush like a fanboy for eight straight days on set,”

As for Dollhouse, there are definitely rumors that the show won’t continue. To that, Whedon says, “No, this doesn’t mean Dollhouse definitely won’t get a back nine. Our numbers mean that! But I kid. Okay, we’re not exactly saving all the good stuff for 14-22, but nobody’s closed the door. If D’House suddenly busts wide, huzzah, we’ll still bring it, and I’ll still go and direct an episode of Glee, because of my love of cops. These realities can co-exist. And possibly cross over, at least in fiction that I have wri – read.”

Here’s the latest Dollhouse update for fans of the Eliza Dushku drama – Fox has announced that it will air all 13 episodes of Dollhouse this season’s order.

While the ratings for Dollhouse haven’t been all that spectacular, an analysis of DVR viewing data was also factored in when the Fox execs made their decision.

Fox scheduling chief Preston Beckman said: “We’re going to run all the episodes,” “We’re not saying we’re happy with those numbers, or accept them, but we don’t have to overreact.”

Of course, while we can celebrate that 13 episodes this season will air – there’s no word yet whether a full season order will happen… let alone a renewal for a third season. According to Fox, those decisions won’t come for awhile.

Joss Whedon is at the ready, writing episode 13 and promising fans “We’ll definitely have closure but will leave some doors open.”

Fox first tested its “remote free” TV theory back in September, with the premiere of hit- TV series Fringe. But audience members who viewed the premiere of Dollhouse got the same treatment. During A typical hour-long television show, viewers spend anywhere from 14-16 minutes viewing commericals. With this new theory, each episode averages only 10 minutes of commercials.

Does it really make a difference ot viewers? Brian Stelter at The New York Times says “Fox says the shorter commercial breaks keep viewers more engaged and improve brand recall for advertisers. Viewers are also less likely to change the channel or fast-forward past the ads — but not to the degree that Fox would have liked. Perhaps more important, the network does not appear to be recouping all the costs of the experiment. It is unclear whether Remote-Free TV will be back next season”

Big wigs at Fox assure audiences that they are happy with the results they are getting from this remote-free revolution. Jon Nesvig, the president of sales for Fox Broadcasting, said “Even if it wasn’t an absolutely positive financial success, it was definitely a worthwhile experiment and something that I am glad we have attempted and will continue to work on.”

What did you think of the viewing difference? Did you even notice?
