The Discovery Channel’s Billy Mays tribute will air July 9 at 9 p.m. The ending of the final episode of “Pitchmen” included a brief tribute to Mays, which you can see in this video clip.

Today Show’s Matt Lauer talks with Extreme Fishing’s Matt Watson, whose dramatic dive from a helicopter on to the top of a marlin was captured on video for the Ultimate Fishing Show web site.

Matt Watson is putting a show together called “Extreme Fisherman,” airing this fall on the Discovery Channel.

Sandra Bullock is currently filming “The Proposal” on Cape Ann — she and Jesse James were being driven home last night when a station wagon jumped lanes and smashed into their car.

Gloucester Police Lt. Gerry Cook commented, “They were shaken up, needless to say,. But they were fine – he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn’t need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them.”

Neither Jesse James nor Sandra Bullock were examined — both walked away without injuries.

On “Supper Club,” Tom Bergeron will host a dinner party with a variety of guests (including celebrities, authors, scholars and politicians) and chit-chat about environmental topics.

Tom Bergeron is up for the “Supper Club” challenge, saying:

“It takes me back to my talkshow roots. I haven’t done it in a while, and I missed it. I’ve also got two daughters, and you start thinking about what you’re leaving your kids. It’s a nice way for me to educate myself more about environmentally sound living.”

Production for “Supper Club” begins in March and Discovery will launch Planet Green in June.
