Oprah Cancels “Favorite Things” Show?

What the what? A year without Oprah’s “Favorite Things”?? Sounds like the much adored “Favorite Things” Oprah episode has been cancelled this year.

Typically, Oprah shares her favorite things (and gives them away to a screaming audience) during Thanksgiving week, but a Harpo employee tells Huffington Post, “We have no plans this season for a ‘Favorite Things.’”

Could the bad economy have put the kibosh on Oprah’s favorite things? Last year, Oprah’s favorite things show had a thrifty angle – with many items either homemade or on the cheap.

2011 is stilll a ways away, but Oprah delivered this tearful announcement to let everyone know the end of her show is near.

Oprah tells viewers:

“So here we are, halfway through the season 24. And it still means as much to me to spend an hour everyday with you as it did in 1986. So why walk away and make next season the last? Here is the real reason. I love this show. This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it’s time to say goodbye. 25 years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit. It’s the perfect number, the exact right time.”

Oprah Ending Show in 2011; Oprah Winfrey to Announce End of Show

Kiss today goodbye…. or something like that. Oprah Winfrey will announce on Friday’s show that she will end her talk show in 2011.

Not for nothing, Oprah has been on the air for 25 freakin’ years. A gajillion dollars later, Oprah’s calling it quits so she can go roll in her money for the rest of her life.

Look for Oprah’s last show on September 9, 2011 – no doubt a big farewell show will be planned.

Watch the Stephenie Meyer Oprah interview in this November 13 video clip. Stephenie Meyer talked about The Twilight Saga series, including the upcoming release of New Moon, in theaters November 20.

Stephenie Meyer revealed in the Oprah interview, “I’m pretty open about my writing, but there was a different ending to ‘New Moon.’ Originally it was much quieter [and] in Bella’s head.”

It was Meyer’s mom that suggested she change the ending: “I introduced the Volturi earlier than expected and that whole scene at the end is there [because my mom thought it would be better that way].”

I love the fact that Stephenie Meyer’s vision for Twilight came to her in a dream. Amazing.
