Tonight’s Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann (February 18) included the announcement of the 2008 “Dancing with the Stars” season 6 cast. The contestants include:

Marlee Matlin (Oscar winner for “Children of a Lesser God”)
Penn Jillette (Vegas magician)
Marissa Jaret Winokur (Tony winning actress for Hairspray)
Adam Carolla (Radio show host)
Kristi Yamaguchi (Olympic skater)

Monica Seles (Tennis champion)
Mario (R&B singer)
Steve Guttenberg (Actor, “Police Academy” films)

Steve Guttenberg Rumored to Join Dancing with the Stars

The official cast for “Dancing with the Stars” will be announced on tonight’s finale of “Dance War,” but it seems Steve Guttenberg has already let the cat out of the bag that he’ll be a contestant.

Is it true? Could the “Cocoon,” “Police Academy” and “Short Circuit” star be getting ready to appear on the next season of “Dancing with the Stars,” set to premiere in March?

Guttenberg was said to have leaked the info at a Manhattan dry cleaner on Friday. Other stars rumored to be on the list of contestants are Adam Carolla, Penn Jillette, Gennifer Flowers, Priscilla Presley, Donny Osmond, Cheryl Ladd, Florence Henderson and Marla Maples.

Looks like we won’t know for sure until the big “Dancing with the Stars” announcement tonight.

Maksim “Maks” Chmerkovskiy Off ‘Dancing with the Stars’ This Season

Women everywhere are crying over the news that hot pro dancer Maksim “Maks” Chmerkovskiy won’t appear on this season’s “Dancing with the Stars.” WHY?!!

Maksim “Maks” Chmerkovskiy has decided to pursue other projects during his break from the successful dance competition, depsite placing second twice (with Leila Ali and Mel B.) on “Dancing with the Stars.”

According to Maks,”There are a lot of things in the works that I want to tend to. People say this show opens doors, but you’re so busy doing the show, that you’re not able to use the doors.”

Rest easy, ladies. Maksim will be back for the following season (seven) of “Dancing with the Stars” — and may appear on results shows this season during group dances.

The sixth season “Dancing with the Stars” contestants will be announced on Monday’s “Dance War” finale (as well as Tuesday’s Good Morning America). “Dancing with the Stars” premieres March 17th.
