Elizabeth Berkley
Elizabeth Berkley, best known for playing Jessie Spano on “Saved by the Bell” and Nomi in “Showgirls,” is heading back to the small screen when she joins “CSI: Miami.” While she hasn’t completely fallen off the radar, she hasn’t been in anything noteworthy in quite awhile.

On “CSI: Miami,” Elizabeth Berkley will play Julia Winston, ex-wife of Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and mom to his teenage son, Kyle (Evan Ellingson). Maybe it’s because she’ll always be the girl from “Saved by the Bell” to me, but doesn’t she seem a bit young for this role?

Berkley will be a recurring character on “CSI: Miami,” although it’s not clear how many episodes she will appear on.

CSI Says Goodbye To Jorja Fox

Jorja Fox aka Sara Sidle

Last night, after eight seasons, Jorja Fox starred in her last episode of CSI. Her character, Sara Sidle, had an excellent good-bye episode, even if it was a little… un-Sara-like.

A former case with creepy kids (genius murderers Marlon and Hannah West from last season) resurfaces, and Sara insists upon taking it over because the whole thing has been haunting her. As a result of what she discovered, she resigned.

Obviously, they left it open for her to return, which the producers seem to think she will do. Jorja though, says, “It was an extremely difficult decision,” but she wants a break from showbiz.

Sara said goodbye

Last night’s CSI marked the end of the road for both Sara Sidle and Jorja Fox who plays her. After being with the series since the beginning, Sara left Las Vegas. In a downward spiral since being abducted in last season’s cliffhanger and then nearly dying in the Nevada desert in this season’s first episode, Sara slipped quietly from the lab and from Las Vegas, driving off in a cab while Grissom read a “dear John” letter.

I’m sad, Sara has always been my favorite character on the show and I’ll miss her. I’m glad, though, that she left rather than being killed off so that if Jorja Fox changes her mind (and the network will have her back), she can come back. Even a guest appearance would be fine!

I do think it was lame that she left Grissom too though, even if her reasons were understandable. It’s just that we saw her pining for him from day one and she finally got him, so then she just leaves because she has things to resolve in herself? Boo! Oh well, here’s hoping she’ll eventually be back (even if we don’t actually see her). Or maybe Grissom can officially hook up with Heather!

Jorja Fox appeared as a guest co-host on yesterday’s “The View,” where she spoke candidly about leaving the hit show “CSI.” While she says she believes her character (Sara Sidle) will be back, she commented on taking the time to “breathe for a second and take a look around” after being “fortunate to have had 11 and a half years on prime-time.”
