Gilbert Gottfried’s insensitive Japan Tsunami jokes on Twitter resulted in Gilbert getting canned from the Aflac commercial gig.

Aflac made the announcement today: “Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac. There is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times.”

While Gilbert Gottfried’s tweets were removed, some of his crappy comments include:

“Japan is really advanced. They don’t go to the beach. The beach comes to them.”

“I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, ‘They’ll be another one floating by any minute now.’”

So tasteless. C’mon.

In the Pepsi Max Super Bowl 2011 commercial “Love Hurts,” after controlling everything her man does, a couple enjoys a Pepsi Max together until he gets a wandering eye for the woman on the next bench. Girlfriend hurls soda can, pops woman off bench and couple plans a speedy getaway.

What did you make of this Pepsi Max commercial? I’ve read a lot of complaints, ranging from the racist element, to disturbing (who slams someone with a soda can and runs away?), to the ad being just plain stupid.

The Pepsi Max “Torpedo Cooler” offered up a new approach to handling douchebag behavior – a shot to the nuts with a cola launching cooler shuts up the offending preppy pretty quickly.
