The photo of Anderson Cooper, when he was 9, appeared to Cooper’s surprise while he and a correspondent talked about Justin Beiber being called a brat for his behavior during a guest star stint on CSI.

Cooper, surprised by the practical joke, said, “Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Did we just put a picture of me when I Was like nine years-old on ‘To Tell the Truth’? About Justin Bieber being a brat, are you saying I’m a brat?”

Anderson Cooper joked, “We’ll get back to you in a little bit. We’ll try to get this ‘technical thing’ worked out. And by worked out I mean we’ll replace our old people.”

Thankfully, a kind gentleman and his wife loaned her money to get to New York and start her career – the man, whom Carol Burnett has never named, saw Burnett perfom at a black tie dinner with her UCLA classmates.

He loaned Carol Burnett $1,000 and said she could not reveal his name, had to pay the money back in five years, and needed to help others once she became successful. She held to the promise.

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan’s coast Friday, with a 13-foot tsunami creating a path of destruction that has so far resulted in hundreds of deaths.

Hawaii has been issued a tsunami warning, as well as Oregon and California coasts and parts of Alaska. A tsunami advisory is in effect for southern California.

Last year, you may recall that Kevin Smith was pulled for a plane and forced to buy a second seat even though he fit fine in his seat.

Smith tells Joy: “I’ve lost 65 pounds,” yet adds, “I feel mixed feelings about losing the weight. I sympathize far more with heavier people than I ever will with thin. I’ll never be thin. Let’s be honest, I’ve lost 65 pounds, but nobody’s going ‘I wanna sleep with you!’ They’re just like, ‘Keep going, you look better.’”

It’s nice to see Kevin Smith take some action to get healthier… and good to see him fill his interview time with talking about the airline incident and his new healthy attitude rather than plugging his new movie.

Anderson Cooper says in the video, “We were set upon by pro-Mubarak supporters, punching us in the head, attacking my producer… my cameraman. The crowd kept growing and throwing punches. It was pandemonium.”

No one was injured in the attack, and Cooper took to Twitter to let fans know he was okay: “Got roughed up by thugs in pro-mubarak crowd..punched and kicked repeatedly. Had to escape. Safe now.”

The Chilean miners rescue is going faster than expected, as seen in the Today show video clip below. Those involved wth the miners rescue operation are estimating that the last man, the shift supervisor, could be pulled from the mine much sooner than anticipated.
