Linda Hamilton to Play Mom on Chuck

Fun casting news! “Terminator” badass Linda Hamilton has been cast as mom to Chuck Bartowski on NBC’s “Chuck.” Sounds about right.

The “Chuck” season 4 premiere airs September 20.

On casting Linda Hamilton, Chuck executive producer Josh Schwartz says, “We’re always looking for guest stars who will be great in the part, but who also speak to our audience and feel like it comes out of the universe of our show. If Chuck and Morgan were watching Chuck, they would be excited about Linda coming on board.”

Schwartz added that “Obviously her body of work was important to us, but also knowing what this part was and the intensity that we were going to need from someone, Linda was a natural fit. She’ll be [kicking ass] right out of the gate.”

“Chuck” Renewed for Season 4; NBC Renews Chuck for 13 Episodes

“Chuck” fans, rejoice! Chuck has been renewed for season 4, but there’s one catch – NBC has only renewed the series for 13 episodes, EW.com’s Ausiello reports.

At this point, we’ll have to take what we can get, as Chuck was one of those “bubble” shows that could have been canceled.

Check it out, “Chuck” fans – the season three premiere ratings for last night’s episode were solid – nearly 8 million people tuned in!

Chuck scored 7.7 million viewers for the two-hour premiere – the second highest ratings for the series since the post-Super Bowl 3-D episode in 2009.

Don’t forget to tune in to Chuck tonight at 8 p.m.

Chuck returns on January 10! Chuck fans can finally put the show back on their calendars, with the two-hour season premiere set for January 10.

Not to worry about the season premiere on Sunday, however. Following the two-hour special, Chuck will be back in its Monday at 8 p.m. timeslot on January 11.

“Chuck” Gets Additional Episodes for Season Three

NBC has reportedly ordered additional episodes of “Chuck,” adding to the existing 13 episodes for season three.

While specifics are not yet available, insiders say NBC may order as many as six additional episodes for season 3.

Now the little detail of when Chuck will return to the schedule – some rumors of an early return were bubbling recently, but other reports say to expect Chuck in mid-January.
