The buzz in the news world is that Katie Couric may leave her anchor job at CBS Evening News. According to the Wall Street Journal (with information from CBS execs and other sources), Katie Couric may abandon her post as early as January 2009.

Rosie Perez is the latest cast member announced for the CBS drama “Exit 19,” starring Geena Davis. Rosie Perez will play Lorna, police partner to Geena Davis’ Gloria, a homicide detective and single mother.
Other cast members of “Exit 19″ are Ramon Rodriguez (Day Break) and Amy Farrington (Back to You).
The buzz is that Britney Spears may return for another episode of “How I Met Your Mother” — likely because her March 25 guest starring gig grabbed the show its highest ratings.
But will the return of Britney Spears on HIMYM mean a ratings win again? Her cameo as a ditzy receptionist was probably in small enough doses that another guest starring gig wouldn’t hurt the series too much. “How I Met Your Mother” is all about the guest stars as of late. Following in Britney Spears’ footsteps, “Dawson’s Creek” star James Van Der Beek is set to make a guest starring appearance on HIMYM.
Look for James Van Der Beek in the “Robin Sparkles” episode, where he’ll play crush to the Canadian pop star.
Britney Spears done good. Well, if her acting wasn’t all that on “How I Met Your Mother” (and honestly, it wasn’t), the guest starring role did give HIMYM its highest rating ever.

Wow, this is pretty surprising — “Jericho,” once saved by fans with a peanut campaign, has now officially been canceled.
I think it’s safe to say that fans can’t save “Jericho” a second time — though they should be proud of their efforts the first time around. Despite being saved, viewership for this season of “Jerciho” has been in the dumps, leading to the inevitable cancellation. Read the rest of this entry »
