CBS Renews “How I Met Your Mother” for Season 6

Check it out – CBS has renewed “How I Met Your Mother” for season 6… early this year! HIMYM fans can breathe a huge sigh of renewal relief because we don’t have to wait, sit and wonder if HIMYM is hanging in the balance or not.

How I Met Your Mother creators/executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas also have signed a deal to create a new show, so they’re riding high.

Twitter’s “Shit My Dad Says” Coming to TV? CBS Comedy in the Works

It’s not an entirely bad premise, right? Twitter’s “Shit My Dad Says” account is coming to TV. That’s right, the random shit that some guy’s dad says is going to become a CBS comedy.

Justin Halpern has become pretty popular for the…er… stuff his dad says, grabbing moret than 700,000 followers since he started the account in August.

See? Good things can come of Twitter… Halpern will co-write the project – which will definitely get a title change once it hits the air.

Halpern, 29, lives with his parents… he writes down the funny stuff his dad, 73, says daily. Some gems include:

“Son, no one gives a shit about all the things your cell phone does. You didn’t invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that.”

“Does anyone your age know how to comb their fucking hair? It looks like two squirrels crawled on their head and started fucking.”

“Why the fuck would I want to live to 100? I’m 73 and shit’s starting to get boring. By the way, there’s no money left when I go, just fyi”

Halpern also sold “Shit My Dad Says” as a book to Harper Collins last month.

The Black Eyed Peas will the sole musical guest on this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, airing December 1 on CBS at 10 p.m.

Supermodel Marisa Miller shows off the biggie for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – a $3 million diamond-studded bra!

Amazing Race 15 Cast Includes Harlem Globetrotters, Former Miss America, and More

CBS has announced the cast for the upcoming The Amazing Race 15, which premieres September 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Check out the CBS web site for more pictures of The Amazing Race 15 teams, which include two Harlem Globetrotters, a former Miss America, professional poker players, yoga teachers and a contestant with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Racers on this season of The Amazing Race will travel eight countries in 21 days and the show will include an elimination of one team before they even begin the race! No doubt plenty of other twists will be in store for this season too.

CBS to Run Embedded Video Ad in Entertainment Weekly/EW (Video)

Entertainment Weekly will be featuring a CBS video ad in their upcoming issue of EW – the first time a video has been embedded in a print ad.

CBS and Pepsi Max are embedding the 40-minute video ad in EW’s September fall TV preview issue. The video ad/commercial will show clips of CBS’s fall schedule on a video device a quarter-inch thick, seen through a cut out in the print ad.

Only EW subscribers in New York and Los Angeles will see the ad.

CBS has announced their 2009-2010 fall schedule, which includes moving some shows around (The Big Bang Theory and The Mentalist) and picking up Medium, which was canceled by NBC.

Without a Trace, Privileged Canceled; No Go on Gossip Girl Spin-Off

And more cancellation news – CBS canceled “Without a Trace,” instead renewing Numb3rs because it costs less to produce.

Over at The CW, they have canceled Privileged, with creator Rini Mimoun commenting, “It’s truly heartbreaking. I’m so grateful to everyone out there who supported our little show and fell in love with Megan Smith. She was the most delightful character I’ve ever had the pleasure to write and watching JoAnna Garcia bring her to life every day was a gift I will never forget. I’m incredibly proud of the work we did and forever indebted to all the fans, critics and to Warner Bros. for being so wonderful and supportive. I will miss this more than you know.”

CBS renewals announced include How I Met Your Mother, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement, and Old Christine.

The CW has picked up Melrose Place 2.0, Beautiful Life and Vampire Diaries, but the Gossip Girl spin-off is a definite no-go – done before it even got started.
