CBS News Anchor Lara Logan Attacked in Egypt

CBS news announced today that International news anchor, Lara Logan, was brutally attacked and assaulted while taping an report for 60 Minutes. Logan was separated from her crew and surrounded by a group of men, which quickly grew to around 200 people. Logan was rescued by a group of Egyptian woman and eventually the local military. Logan made it back to her hotel in Cairo and was flown back to the US. She has asked for privacy as she recovers in an undisclosed hospital

Harry Smith Fired from CBS Early Show! Smith, Maggie Rodriguez, Dave Price Fired from Early Show

Harry Smith has been fired from CBS’ Early Show, along with Maggie Rodriguez and weatherman Dave Price.

Looks like the Early Show firing Harry Smith, Rodriguez and Price is a way to clean house and boost the ratings.

A new team will take over on the Early Show – Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriguez, and Dave Price will leave the program January 3.

Look for the Early Show to now feature Erica Hill and Chris Wragge, who currently cover Saturday’s edition of the Early Show, as well as Jeff Glor, who anchors Saturday’s CBS Evening News. Marysol Castro, formerly of Good Morning America’s weekend edition, will be reporting the weather.

CBS Cancels Medium: Medium Canceled After 7 Seasons

CBS cancels Medium… Medium canceled after 7 seasons and two different networks!

NBC canceled Medium last year, but CBS picked up the Patricia Arquette series. Last month, CBS cut the Medium season 7 order to 13 episodes, and now Patricia Arquette confirms Medium has been canceled.

Arquette tells Entertainment Weekly: “We got canceled,” dishing on how the series might end: “They’re like, ‘we’re just going to burn the whole thing down!’”

Arquette added that “It’s been a great time. I love that time in my life.”

CBS Ladies’ Talk Show: A Rip Off of The View?

CBS announced yesterday that a new daytime talk show was coming to the network to replace “As the World Turns” – a talk show that sounds like a rip off of “The View.”

The CBS chatfest will be co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, and Marissa Jaret Winokur, and will have a format oh-so-very-similar to The View.

But will anyone tune in?

This seems a bit like a hodgepodge of hosts… and maybe a potentially boring lineup, too.

The as-yet-named show is said to have more of a motherhood point of view, when compared to The View.

Barbara Bloom, CBS’ Senior Vice President of Daytime, said in a statement, “Daytime is an evolving daypart with more variety now among soap operas, game and talk shows. We were looking for a new format that would speak to the core audience but also have the topical and entertainment value to go even broader. This panel is not a bashful bunch; they are outspoken on any issue you put on the table. It promises to be an hour of television with timely discussions, unfiltered opinions and a lot of personality.”

Who Wins Survivor Heroes vs. Villains? Sandra Diaz-Twine Winner of Survivor 2010 Finale

Who wins the Survivor Heroes vs. Villains finale? Sandra Diaz-Twine walked away the winner of Survivor 2010 (season 20), winning the million dollar grand prize for outlasting the other competitors.

With Russell winning the final immunity challenge, he was guaranteed his place in the top 3. Jerri was voted off, leaving Russell, Sandra and Parvati to face off before the jury.

Sandra Diaz-Twine previously played and won on the Pearl Islands season, making this Sandra’s second Survivor win. Sandra played a solid game on the villains tribe, easily earning her the win over Parvati and Russell (who received no jury votes).

Is Charlie Sheen Leaving Two and a Half Men?

Is Charlie Sheen leaving “Two and a Half Men?” Yesterday, reports surfaced that Sheen wants out of the hit CBS comedy series to pursue movies.

“Two and a Half Men,” co-starring Jon Cryer, has been on the air for seven years and is the top-rated comedy on TV. CBS renewed the series to continue through the 2011-12 season, but Charlie Sheen’s contract is up at the end of this season.

But, is this just a rumor or is Charlie Sheen really leaving Two and a Half Men? TMZ.com is now reporting that other sources say Sheen is just looking for a bump in salary.

Charlie is reportedly making $825,000 an episode, but is looking to make $1.5 million (per episode?? sheesh). Snitches say that Warner Bros. is offering Sheen around $1 million an episode.
