Joss Whedon to Direct Episode of “Glee”

Joss Whedon is confirming the news that he will in fact be directing an episode of “Glee.” We only have the highest expectations for Whedon, who pulled off the most fabulous musical episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and gave us the brilliant “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” Oh yeah, plus Joss Whedon has scores of fans as the creator of Dollhouse, Angel and Firefly, among other goodies on his resume.

Joss Whedon posted at Whedonesque.com: “…unless something very odd happens in the next few months, I will have the privilege of shooting an episode of GLEE.”

He continues: “I just want to work with good people on a show that I like enough to have watched every episode several times.”

Plus, Whedon promises, “I’m going to do my best, and more importantly, I’m going to do my best not to gush like a fanboy for eight straight days on set,”

As for Dollhouse, there are definitely rumors that the show won’t continue. To that, Whedon says, “No, this doesn’t mean Dollhouse definitely won’t get a back nine. Our numbers mean that! But I kid. Okay, we’re not exactly saving all the good stuff for 14-22, but nobody’s closed the door. If D’House suddenly busts wide, huzzah, we’ll still bring it, and I’ll still go and direct an episode of Glee, because of my love of cops. These realities can co-exist. And possibly cross over, at least in fiction that I have wri – read.”

Buffy’s Sarah Michelle Gellar Pregnant; First Baby for Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr.

TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar, is pregnant and due this fall. This will be the first baby for Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

A source tells People.com “They’re very excited.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar, 31, and Freddie Prinze Jr., 33, have been married for six years.

Andy Hallett Dead at Age 33, Lorne from Series “Angel” Died of Heart Failure

This is so tragic – Andy Hallett, who played Lorne on the TV series “Angel,” is dead at age 33. Hallett’s death is the result of a five-year battle with heart disease; he died of heart failure.

Andy Hallett’s death is definitely a talented life cut short. He not only appeared on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff as Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan (“Lorne”) more than 70 times, but he was also a musician whose songs appeared on the Angel: Live Fast, Die Never soundtrack.

Joss Whedon, of course, is the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly, so there are big expectations for Dollhouse, starring Eliza Dushku.

Dollhouse co-stars Dichen Lachman, Enver Gjokaj, Olivia Williams, Harry Lennix and Fran Kranz.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Returning to TV: HBO’s “The Wonderful Maladys”

Buffy is back. Well, sorta. Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to TV anyway, with a half-hour HBO show called “The Wonderful Maladys.” In “The Wonderful Maladys,” Sarah Michelle Gellar will play one of three siblings who lost their parents at a young age, according to Variety.

Sarah Michelle Gellar tells Variety that this new HBO series is “a terrific next chapter for me.”

New WB Web Site Offers Buffy, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, The O.C. Episodes Online

WB will launch a new website today, TheWB.com, offering up plenty of old-school online episodes to check out.

Full-length episodes of fan favorite WB-produced shows will be available online at TheWB.com for no cost, including: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, Everwood, Friends, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., One Tree Hill, Roswell, Smallville, and MADtv. You can also catch Angel, Babylon 5, Firefly, The Loop and In Living Color.

Two-minute episodes of the new web series, Sorority Forever, will begin airing September 8. Sorority Forever is described as a suspense-thriller.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” creator Joss Whedon is back with a new FOX series — the sci-fi drama “Dollhouse.”

Eliza Dushku will play Echo, one of the “Dolls” who tries to track down her previous life (the Dolls, imprinted with different personalities for their assignments, have no memories of who they were before).

Also joining the cast: Tahmoh Penikett (“Battlestar Galactica”) as FBI field agent Paul Smith, Fran Kranz as programmer Topher Brink, Dichen Lachman as “Doll” Sierra and Enver Gjokaj as “Doll” Victor.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reunion at Paley Festival

The cast of the uber-cult classic “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” had a reunion last night at the William S. Paley Television Festival.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” aired on the WB (and then UPN) from 1997 to 2003. Does the reunion of the “Buffy” gang mean an onscreen reunion? Sadly, no. Joss Whedon commented, “So many stars would have to align.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green, Amber Benson, Nicholas Brendon, Emma Caulfield, James Marsters, Michelle Trachtenberg, Charisma Carpenter, David Greenwalt, Marti Noxon and Joss Whedon reunited for one night only for a panel discussion at the Paley Festival.
