I really wanted to like the new CBS series, “Welcome to the Captain,” that stars “Arrested Development’s” Jeffrey Tambor (Uncle Saul) and Chris Klein (Marty), but the pilot episode for me fell flat.

In “Welcome to the Captain,” the main character, Josh Flug (Fran Kranz) moves into the El Capitan apartment building in L.A. upon the advice of his friend Marty (Klein), rather than moving to New York.
