Futurama Returns to Comedy Central for Two Seasons

Futurama will return to Comedy Central next year with two new seasons worth of goodness!

Comedy Central and 20th Century Fox placed a 26 episode order and the whole cast and writers are supposed to return. The new season of Futurama kicks off in mid-2010, picking up where the last DVD movie left off.

Monsters vs. Aliens, Kung Fu Panda Coming to Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon just ordered a pilot for “Monsters vs. Aliens” from DreamWorks Animation, just a week after announcing that “Kung Fu Panda: The Series” would also land on the small screen.

The Monsters vs. Aliens and Kung Fu Panda series follow in the footsteps of DreamWorks’ “The Penguins of Madagascar” Nickelodeon series.

Also announced: a 2010 NBC Halloween special called “Scared Shrekless” and a Kung Fu Panda holiday special.

Beyonce to Lend Voice to Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! (Video)

Music superstar Beyonce is about to take on a new role – as voice talent on upcoming episodes of “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!” – check out the behind-the-scenes video of Beyonce on the children’s series, where she’ll play Shine, the lead singer of girl group “The Wubb Girlz.”

Beyonce will appear on four episodes of Nickelodeon’s Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! – beginning April 27.

The Simpsons Renewed for Two More Seasons

Is there an end in sight for The Simpsons? Bart, Homer and the gang just got renewed for two more seasons, making The Simpsons the longest running show on TV. I’m starting to feel old.

With the additional 44 episode pickup, The Simpsons will air a total of 493 eps. Cowabunga!

Will ABC Pick up King of the Hill?

ABC is creating a reputation for picking up sloppy seconds – first with Scrubs, and now (possibly) with Fox’s recently cancelled King of the Hill. But will ABC pick up the cancelled animated series?

ABC is currently considering taking on King of the Hill, which has been on the air for 13 years. King of the Hill would make a nice companion to ABC’s midseason animated comedy from Hill exec producer Mike Judge called The Goode Family.

Looks like we’ll have to wait it out and see what happens with the long-running King.

Comedy Central, FX and the Cartoon Network are also rumored to have an interest in picking up King of the Hill.

King of the Hill Canceled

King of the Hill, the long-running Fox animated series, has been canceled. 13 more episodes of King of the Hill will still air, with the finale expected during the 2009-2010 season due to the animation time needed.

Gary Newman, co-chairman of 20th Century Fox TV, speculated King of the Hill’s cancellation earlier this month, saying, “I don’t know if the network will be ordering more seasons or not. That show has had its last rites read to it several times, and keeps rearing its head again.”

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Premieres Tonight, October 3 (Promo Video)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars premieres tonight, October 3, at 9 p.m. on Cartoon Network. The new CGI series comes on the heels of this summer’s hit movie The Clone Wars. Check out the promo video for a sneak peek at The Clone Wars.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to catch Star Wars: The Clone Wars – episodes will be available the next day on iTunes, as well as online at the Cartoon Net and Star Wars websites a week after each episode airs.
